Will Ted Cruz Make A Good President? [ZOT Magnet---ZAPPED!]
Leo McNeil ^ | March 24, 2015 | Leo McNeil

I want to like Ted Cruz. He has all the right views from Obamacare to taxes to amnesty to Federal spending. He’s a gifted speaker, his speech yesterday was given without a teleprompter. He appeared genuine, frankly it appeared as though he had written the speech himself. The left hates Cruz, which of course makes him all the more likable. John McCain has called him a wacko bird, which again makes Cruz more likable. Anyone who annoys McCain must be good. Lost in the euphoria conservatives are having over Cruz is an objective look at whether Cruz will actually make a good President. Let’s face it, there isn’t a lot of evidence out there that Cruz is capable. Yes, he has all the right views but is he capable of governing effectively with those principles he claims?

Ted Cruz has as much experience today as Barack Obama did in 2007. Both entered their first Presidential race with zero executive governing experience. Both of them had just over two years of experience in the Senate before announcing their candidacy. Neither of them accomplished anything legislatively in the Senate, neither authored a single bill which made it through the chamber much less Congress. Ted Cruz is the conservative version of Barack Hussein Obama, he even has the birther crazies going wild because he was born in Canada.

Obama would have been much worse, from a conservative standpoint, had he been experienced heading into the White House. During his first year he had a filibuster proof majority in Congress and failed to get more than a watered down Wall Street bill and a Stimulus bill passed. He failed to pass an amnesty bill, he failed to pass a tax increase, he failed to pass Cap & Trade, he failed to close Guantanamo. The President wanted single payer socialist healthcare, he had to settle for Obamacare. Had Obama been more experienced, he’s likely to have figured out how to pass most of his agenda. From a managerial standpoint, his agencies are a mess. They had three years to put together a website for Obamacare and the administration failed miserably. Obama had no idea there was a problem until after the website went live. Obama came into office promising to clean up the VA, six years later nothing has changed. Much of this is due to the President’s inexperience. Obama’s lawless unilateral actions today are directly traceable to his legislative inexperience and lack of skill.

What evidence is there that Ted Cruz will do a better job than Obama? Yes, we can always fall back on Cruz having the right principles. However if he isn’t capable of implementing those principles, what good is he to the conservative cause? The question for conservatives today is what evidence is there that Cruz will be effective managing the executive branch? Objectively there isn’t much evidence out there that he’s capable of doing much of anything other than give a good speech. A President has to be more than that though. There is a lesson to be learned from Obama’s nomination, it simply isn’t wise to nominate someone who doesn’t have much experience.

On a more subjective note, don’t you wonder about the motivations of someone who thinks that after two years in the Senate he’s qualified to be President? After eight years of watching Obama, it’s clear he’s a narcissist. That probably should have been obvious from the moment he announced his candidacy. Only a narcissist would think he’s qualified to run for President with so little experience. Cruz is in the same boat. While it’s nice to believe his motivations are pure and Constitutional, we’re only fooling ourselves if we truly believe it. Cruz is arrogant enough to believe that despite his inexperience and lack of accomplishment he should be elected President. Considering all the conservative jumping on the Cruz bandwagon, it appears we’ve learned little from the mistake of Obama.

My only concern is that he has not shown a desire to make alliances within his party. But then again much of that party are RINOs.

So, who won that argument between you and you?

I can’t believe all the hate this guy is getting, well actually I can being that he’s not a terror supporting Jew hating America hating psychopath. And of course, predictable as hell the RINOs are bashing him like Peter King yesterday. Just another example that we are a one party country. The Liberals and RINOs or what I like to call the “Librino party”. “Oh how dare this man want to bring the country back from the brink of disaster”

What an idiotic comparison.

Obama promised to fundamentally change the US.

Ted Cruz promises to restore the US to its former greatness.

Obama reads speeches written by others from teleprompters.

Ted Cruz speaks for himself.

Obama has a questionable college record, with no transcripts or evidence he even graduated.

Even his detractors acknowledge that Cruz has an impressive college and law school record.

Obama was a street thug organizer in Chicago.

Ted Cruz has an impressive record in TX government and in preparing and presenting law cases.

GOP-e has pretty much made their alliances with Bammy. They keep giving him mine and your money to do with as he pleases.

They picked sides six years ago.

We love to talk about the greatness of America, and how anyone can rise from nowhere and become president.

And then we get dumb bullsh@t like this.

When I see the part of the Constitution that requires some magical stint in a governor’s job to become president, then I will care.

Relative to what we have now my dog would be leaps and bounds better. Ted would be so much better than anyone the rats could/would run there really is no comparison.

The role of president is to lead, however for managing the agencies that run the country, a good executive delegates. You know this.

Cruz will select experienced, principled managers who will do all of this for him and by the guidelines and values he represents.

So yes, he will be very successful as president.

Rest easy, Leo, Ted Cruz will make a fine president. He has more experience on how to get things done than does the current imposter in chief. You know the details of Cruz’s background. You know practically nothing of the Kenyan’s. Your question and projected fear are unfounded.

Leo:

You draw the equivalencies between Obamugabe and Cruz. I offer that, in your contrast-and-compare bluebook essay above, you leave out a glaring contrast.

To wit, Cruz is more of a political manager. Obamugabe came into the office looking to have the world accept him as its de facto “leader” and then spent all his time hoping everyone would simply like him (the cool factor). He has since become jaded as the “opposition party” rejects his actions and desires regarding governing the populace.

Cruz has a more executive understanding of the office and realizes that he will not be liked yet must govern and represent the entire population of the US, constitutionally.

That means Cruz won’t be seen on late-night TV, Sunday morning gab-fests or even the weekly TV-news magazines. (And if does?, then watch the conservatives send him to the “hamper” like so much dirty laundry). He has set his ideals on constitutional government in the framework of G. Washington, smaller, better, more efficient.

Next time you pimp your blog, maybe you can ACTUALLY speak with Senator Cruz about the conclusions you have made on his behalf...you know...as a member of the media [/snark]

As much as I like Cruz for what he stands for, it would be hypocritical to nominate him for president. He was not born on US soil. His qualifications are no better than Obama’s and the Democrat’s would ignore Obama’s credentials and go after Cruz’s.
We need a candidate with unimpeachable qualifications.

Leo, you really haven’t bothered to look at Ted Cruz’s resume, have you?

Ted Cruz is the smartest presidential candidate since Thomas Jefferson. Even liberals have reluctantly admitted that his credentials are impeccable.

You think that government service is somehow necessary to good leadership. If you believe that, then you are not qualified to render an opinion on anyone’s qualifications for public office.

In your book, George Washington would not have been qualified either to lead the Continental Army or be President.

Cruz has all the right qualities of s natural born leader. So shut up and quit wasting bandwidth to prove your ignorance.

Cruz isn’t lazy and intellectually challenged like Obsma I’d.

Can you imagine Obama giving a 20 hour filibuster speech? How many I’d, ummms, and my’s would that contain?
