Bishop of the Russian Orthodox Church
"Only after the ISIS militants began terrible mass executions of Christians the world community began speaking about this problem out loud. It happened only after the number of Christians in Iraq decreased by times and almost no Christians remained in Lybia and after the Christian community in Egypt had a hard time. The world community has at last begun speaking out against the background of general instability and uncertainty, against the background of the Arab Spring developments, against the background of what is going on now in Syria, where militants in the occupied territories are systematically eliminating Christians and Christian shrines.
The question arises inevitably here: why the so-called Christian West, at least in the eyes of many Muslims, supports these destructive forces and the so-called opposition in Syria? Why did the West support and actually initiate the overthrow of the regime in Iraq? Yes, we understand that the regime that existed in Iraq could be viewed differently and could hardly be regarded as model. But when a regime that somehow or other keeps the whole country from a disaster is overthrown an utter chaos comes in and a civil war begins, for the overthrow of a dictatorship does not at all mean that it will be surely replaced by a democracy. And those who did it now wash their hands saying: We have nothing to do with this; we have done our work; now let them themselves sort it all out. And how they can sort it all out on their own when the whole infrastructure of the country, political and economic, is destroyed and the interreligious and inter-ethnic balances, which existed for centuries, are violated?"
Dishonorable mention to George Bush, Jr.
George Bush Sr. called Junior at the White House before the 2003 invasion of Iraq and urged that he not take out Saddam, just keep him in check. Reportedly, Bush Jr. hung up the phone on his father.
No, its the fault of the muzzies.....
Did our fearless leader condemn the murders of Christians by his best buddies?
Must have missed it.
Many Western leaders, especially US, are not Christian.
Of course, it’s the Muslims. They’re savages. But the mishandling of the Middle East by Bush Jr. and Obama-Jarrett have borne catastrophic fruit.
The progressive movement would like nothing better than to see religion wiped off the face of the Earth, and would encourage religion to fight religion to reach that goal.
You are correct. It is the same people who murdered hundreds of thousands of Armenian Christians a century ago. Those people have not had the courage to repeat their atrocities since then because of American power. Now that they have an ally in our White House, they feel safe returning to mass murder.
Interestingly, much if not most of the killing of Armenians was done by Kurds, who are now our BFFs in the area.
Here is my question. Why did we bomb Christians in Yugoslovia on the flimsiest evidence of mass graves of moslem men who could had been killed in flat out battle , in kosovo? Why did General Wesley Clark order bombing of Christian civilians on EASTER in Serbia in support of moslems? Why did we install moslems in Kosovo?
But when 400 Christians in Syria are held hostage TODAY and 300 were slaughtered in the dormitories in Christian schools in Kenya yesterday after 21 Coptic Christians were beheaded on you tube ( and referred to as “Egyptian” by this crappy government ) and 600 female Christians are taken prisoner hostages and repeatedly RAPED in Nigeria by ignorant african Isis wannabes? Why then do we do fricken NOTHING as an 80% Christian NATION? Tell these politician bastards to get get off their vacationing asses and send our troops to kill these moslem bastard and save these Christians!!
Okay. I vant to know who made that cake!
they’re CHEERING IT ON! Indiana means more than u think
You haven’t the slightest idea of what you’re talking about.
Right back at you.
So do you think Bush Jr and Obama-Jarrett are blameless victims of this Middle East mess? Bush Sr. had it right. Contain Saddam. Put him in harness.
Christian lives don’t matter, according to liberals like Obama. Recent headlines make it quite clear, even in Indiana - Christians must go!
Interesting comments about the Bushes. Any source for that? Because the old man would not put up with that sh!t from his son.
I never heard that story.
For most of the freepers yelping for war a dozen years ago, it was a revelation to learn there were any Christians in the middle east.
Saddam Hussein was known for sending videos to dissidents of their children being put feet-first into plastic shredders, or them being raped and slowly killed.
When we invaded and opened the prisons, at Abu Ghraibh alone hundreds of children were released ... not to mention an adult American who had languished in that prison for years through the Clinton Admin.
There was a cease fire agreement where Iraq agreed to return 900 civilian prisoners of war- entire families it had abducted in its invasion of Kuwait- but after Stormin’ Norman left the theatre Saddam never delivered those people.
Iraq was the state which along with its Soviet associates worked to destabilize the Shah of Iran. Iraq did this by cultivating a strong relationship with the militants of Baluchistan and also by harboring a fellow later known as the Ayatollah Khomeini, who then moved to France before embarking on his Revolution with the aid of other religious fanatics and Iranian Marxists. Saddam served as the Baath Party head of intel/secret police at the time. And they were given help against the shah by questionable Carter admin policies and wealthy fools in the US looking to prfofit in Iran, and the same guy who is pushing current US disasterous foreign policy, Brzezinsky. Brzezinsky was a Carter admin official and as we later discovered, Carter was on the receiving end of payments made by Saddam’s agents of influence, men who had received the funds in the form of the Iraqi regime’s oil vouchers.
The guy Saddam used to bribe the press and foreign politicians to look the other way was Tariq Aziz, a Christian. Saddam was a monster because the world let him go on far too long and emboldened him, not because it didn’t let him go long enough. As the world is emboldening terrorists today.
The first to look away while Saddam kicked sand in his face were none other than Colin Powell [savior of the Iraq Republican Guard] and H R Bush, who sat on their hindquarters while the Republican Guard brutally crushed a popular revolt in the aftermath of the “ceasefire.”
