It’s meaningless without the background and internals.
CHICAGO — Could it be Donald Trump in Illinois? According to a poll compelled by Compass Consulting for the Chicago Sun-Times, Trump would get 30 percent of the vote if the election held today.
Trump is followed by Senators Ted Cruz and Marco Rubio.
Only landline phone were called to hard-core Republicans in the state, meaning half the participants were 62 years old and over.
When looking at just the age group 26 to 35, Rubio came in first at 19-percent.
The Illinois Primary is March 15.

But the incomplete internals given here don’t inspire confidence in the poll.

What is a “hard-core Republican”?
In Illinois you anyone can vote in the Republican primary by declaring their party affiliation that day. They can switch back at any time. So this poll doesn’t poll the right sample, sorry.
I’m fine with Trump winning, I just want to see reality. This poll may be a correct snapshot, but if so, it’s by accident.
Note all states on and after March 15 award winner take all delegates.
Hey, thanks for that info. Thank goodness. This proportional stuff can kill a candidate. Hope it’s Hillary.
I’m in IL and somewhat skeptical of that, but for the first time in 20 years, a Republican governor is standing up the the Chicago machine and one-party rule, and people are seeing things a bit differently. The problem is, Chicago carries SO much weight you can be elected governor by winning 3 counties and losing the the other 99! Carving Chicago off as it’s own state would turn Illinois red overnight.
