In the gold corner towers Donald Trump, in blue tie and white cap.
In the silver corner stands Ted Cruz, in red tie and black cowboy boots.
When they’re done bashing each other, the Republicans will have a nominee. My money is on the New Yorker decking the Texan by July’s convention in Cleveland.
Another bet: A triumphant Trump tags Cruz as his vice presidential mate — on the way to Trump-Cruz winning it all on Nov. 8.
Implausible? As implausible as Kennedy corralling LBJ in 1960 after a bitter summer? Or Reagan picking Bush Sr. in 1980 after zingers from the former CIA chief?
Notice that Cruz, Johnson, Bush all share Texas office roots, and that the JFK-LBJ and Reagan-Bush tickets won.
Trump yearns for the same result, following the Khaled hit “All I Do Is Win” that Jimmy Fallon told the billionaire to use as his campaign song.
Let’s hear the boos and yeas in the Trump-Cruz arena.
Boo: Trump calls him Lyin’ Ted, “a very nasty guy,” noting that “nobody likes him, nobody in Congress likes him, nobody likes him anywhere once they get to know him.” Cruz jokes with a bite: “If I were in my car and getting ready to reverse and saw Donald in the backup camera, I’m not confident which pedal I’d push.” This duo can’t possibly run on the same ticket.
Yea: Sure they can. Trump belted Ben Carson in Iowa so harshly, the doctor seemed like a mother killer. Most people would scream bloody murder. Dr. Ben shrugged it off, said they “buried the hatchet” and endorsed the real estate mogul before the Florida primary...

Trump people aren’t goint to stay home because of his VP.
I think there’s too many opinion differences between them for this to happen.
Man, give it up. Cruz is not going to be VP. He’s probably going to get primaried in his next Senate race as well.
What you’re seeing with Cruz now is the actions of a man who is committing career suicide. If you want to go down with that ship, that’s your prerogative.

Cruz’s positions are in opposition to Trump’s main popular appeal.
Cruz is a globalist, and a consistent one. Trump is an anti-globalist. Trump is going to pick a VP that supports his positions, not one that undermines them.

Trump has said many times he most admired and respected the guys who punched against him the hardest on deals.. I wouldn’t count out anybody if Trump thought he would help him win..

I don’t think Trump will take him just because he is still in the race.
You can call that petty. It probably is.
But realistically In the General Election Trump will win Texas anyway. As much as it makes me gag Kasich is more likely. Someone has suggested Rick Scott of Florida.
We’ll see but won’t be Cruz
