SAN JOSE -- A day after a melee erupted outside a Donald Trump rally, the San Jose police chief and mayor on Friday defended themselves from a national backlash over their handling of the dramatic and at times violent protest.
On radio talk shows and across social media, some called for Mayor Sam Liccardo's resignation because of his comments suggesting that Trump was to blame for igniting violence, while police were criticized for failing to protect Trump supporters from angry protesters throwing punches, water bottles and traffic cones. Some videos showed those attacks and suggested they were unprovoked, but others showed Trump supporters taunting protesters, ripping their Dump Trump signs and throwing the first punches....

This mayor, Sam Liccardo is a real POS. In fact I believe the San Jose police chief has some real issues in regard to public safety.
Suppose it were true? It does not absolve Chief Garcia of his abuse of authority. It does not excuse his stand down order.

If there were such videos, one would think that is all we would have seen these last few days.

We have people on this forum that posted that they campaigned for him.
We would have been plastered 24/7 with such video clips if/when Trump supporters threw the first punch. And we have to ask if it had gone through msm-editing.

The mayor or Mercury is deflecting.
The problem was not that the police did little. The problem was that the police apparently had a ‘stand down’ order from the mayor. Shades of Baltimore.
Ya knew the glaring media lies would follow these events. There is no question 99 percent of all the violence are coming from violent Mexicans and assorted violent leftist.
It is the violent Mexicans and leftists who went uninvited to where the Trump supporters gather for rallies. Trump supporters did not go to their rallies and become violent. End of story.
It was a setup by the mayor and police chief.
An attendee said they had to go right past the “protesters” when they left the event. They intentionally put the attendees and thugs in close proximity.

Was the mayor and Police Chief not following these historic recent events which became violent at the hands of violent Mexicans and assorted violent leftists? Did the Chief of Police not see what occurred in Chicago, Albuquerque, Costa Mesa, et al?
Is the Chief and Mayor alleging he had no idea about these recent violent patterns and the potential for innocents to be physically attacked?
The San Jose Mayor and Police Chief are lying.
OMG, thank God no violent Mexicans and leftist who went looking for trouble were not injured or offended.

I heard it as speculation on 2 different radio talkshows the morning after.
That was the ‘rumor’ going around.
