A new drama series starring Kevin Costner.
The series premiere was pretty good IMHO.
I do wish actors like Costner would keep their big yap shut about politics though. It taints their work.

The series premiere was pretty good. I felt like I'd just watched a mash-up of Longmire and Dallas with a pinch of General Hospital.

Where drinking water poisoned by fracking wells and unsolved murders are not news: they are a consequence of living in the new frontier.
I have yet to see an actual, real-life story of drinking water contaminated by fracking. Not real.

I tried out as an extra for this series. Didn’t make the cut. Then I hear about Costner shooting off his big mouth so I won’t be watching it.

I watched, and enjoyed the premier, but felt it was a re-do of the series “The Son” that starred Pierce Brosnan.

Sounds like Bonanza for the 21st century.

"The Son" is similar and pretty good. Starts off with the main character being captured by Indians. Fifty years later about the turn of the century he discovers oil on his neighbor's land.

Since Costner, in effect, has come out against Trump, I no longer watch anything he is in.

Wife watched it. I didn’t. She said it was just a rehash of DALLAS, the series, in Wyoming.

I thought this looked interesting. Asked husband what he thought....he said co-workers said it was a Dallas wannabe. Havent watched it yet, but the fracking troubles bit makes me very suspicious. There have been NO INSTANCES where fracking caused problems. Period. Maybe just give this a pass.

Not a Cosner fan, but I did watch Ep 1.
Potential.
It reminded me of the Blood & Oil/Boomtown TV soap series from a few years ago. That series didn’t last long. It also is similar to Longmire.
I will watch until it takes a drastic left turn.
I did chuckle when the errant son’s young son picked up the rifle and asked ‘Is this for me?’ I noticed the scene quickly shifted without a reply.

That show is on the Paramount Network and since I cut the cord I can’t get it. After reading the premise and such I pass even if I could see it. Costner just isn’t interesting any more and too Left for me now. Although I saw his film on TV “Draft Day” and thought it okay.
To: Boomer
Nothing novel or intriguing in the storyline, no compelling dialogue, none of the main characters is admirable or heroic, and the most interesting character was killed off in the first episode.

I do wish actors like Costner would keep their big yap shut about politics though. It taints their work. I had the series ready to record on my DVR until I stumbled upon a video of Costner on "The P-U" telling us how this Trumped-up illegal immigration crap (pun intended) is "not my America anymore".
Hit the "Cancel Series" on my DVR immediately. It's bad enough I have to deal with TDR victims on a daily basis in real life. Don't need to deal with them for entertainment too.
