If Trump were to create a new party, would you join?
I keep hearing how bad it would be and how it would 'split the vote' and hand the victory to the Democrats.
I disagree, because I think a majority of people would go with Trump.
There is currently about 25% of the country registered as GOP. That's about 80 million people.
If Trump formed a new party I would think nearly everyone who voted for him (over 70 million) would join. Plus some disillusioned Democrats AND some independents.
That would make the new party bigger than the old GOP. Their funding would dry up overnight.
The current GOP is not just office holders- there are huge bureaucracies of party officials. If NY GOP is any example, they seem to think they have permanent sinecures and the party funds are for them to host social gatherings.
Not only me, I could guarantee quite a few family members.
YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
A ruthless bunch of brats understand only ONE thing.... strength... and we have it! Clean them all up by reinventing the powerful United States of America!
Up until now, I have felt that forming a new conservative party would be a mistake as it would split the Republican votes between two parties and the Dems would win.
That being said, and after seeing the Liz Cheney vote, I am ready to change my mind. Kevin McCarthy is just a younger version of Mitch McConnell. What a joke when House Republicans are poled and are heavily in favor of removing Cheney from chair positions, and then a SECRET vote is called by McCarthy and guess what??? The vast majority of House Republicans fall into line and vote to keep Cheney. That was it for me. My family will join a Trump Party without hesitation.
The Republican Party is dead to me. I look around that party and see the likes of Romney, Sasse, and a host of other Dems wearing Republican clothing. Traitors, every one of them willing to sell the US down the tubes. Better they should register as Dems. I look forward to both Romney and Sasse being primaried next time around and going down in huge defeats.
YES.
MAGA !!!
Yep, but I might rather him endorse real conservative candidates like Desantis, Marjorie Greene and the gal from Colorado, Noem, Hawley and other real conservatives and take the party back
Why not take the GOP from the E and make them start a new party. Hell, make them work for once.
Probably not.
}{€££ YES !!!
Screw Liz and her whole treasonous cabal.
Yes
Yes.
I have heard the same arguments about not abandoning the GOP for the 47 years I have been paying attention to politics, and the GOP has only gotten worse and more traitorous to their constituents.
“Elect the lesser of two evils and hold their feet to the fire!!!” ... Heard it, read it a hundred thousand times. How’s that worked out for ya?
The Green party never had 70 million potential members.
What happens when 74 year old Trump dies or becomes disabled?
When you build a political party around one individual, bad things happen when that individual can no longer lead it.
I voted for Trump twice, but only because he was the most Conservative candidate who had a chance to win the election.
If a younger, more Conservative candidate who can win emerges in the next four years, I will walk away from Trump and never look back.
I would like to, despite comparisons to the Bull Moose party, however, I’m afraid that at the state and local level, the deck has been ridiculously stacked against any third party.
Even in states where the *majority* of voters refuse to align with either party, remaining “independent”, they are effectively prohibited from joining a third party.
yes
The Green party never had 70 million potential members.
I would go with President Trump. I was a life long Republican but removed myself from their swampy water last fall when the RINO left came out in such numbers.
YES! In a heartbeat.
Political parties are not defined by the Constitution. They have divided Congress, nullifying the Senate’s power to remove bona-fide House impeached presidents for example.
Political parties have also trampled the 12th Amendment electoral vote process, state winner take all laws for electoral votes unconstitutional imo.
That being said, yes to Trump’s party if he decides to establish one. But only until we can get rid of unnecessary political parties altogether.
