Find us the episode number and description from one of the various sources. I have no idea what episode you are talking about since you say it wasn't the Christopher Reeves one.

I also have a very slight memory of something that may be approaching what you are talking about but it aired long before the Reeves episode so it couldn't be an "atonement" episode as you suggest.

Yes, but that was also the "Kenny Dies. For Real" episode, which was why they were doing the over the top with the drama. They were going for the "Movie of Week" vibe that you often see on Lifetime. Plus, it's impossible to find a Shakey's in Colorado, which is why cloning them is a good thing.

(And the Chris Reeves episode came two years later, so they didn't do this one as penance.)

Dude, it J-U-S-T W-A-S-N-T F-U-N-N-Y.

Like I said, I won't even try evaluating whether it promoted fetal stem-cell research, or it ironically ridiculed taht cause. (I tend to think this was promoted FSCR, while the Reeve one had the opposite effect.) But the point is several minutes would pass at a clip without there being one joke.

That episode came before the Reeves episode. At least by a whole season. It was two-fold though. Cartman just wanted the stem cells to make money. Not unlike the California vote.

Cartman uses fetal cells to clone Shakey's

"dangus, you're bustin' my balls here. I'm just like these fetuses, dangus, I wasn't born last night either."

I can't believe they actually used her name.

As opposed to the Michael Jackson episode where the called him "Mr. Johnson" and his son Prince Micheal II was called "blanket".

The original Red Dragon was a Michael Mann production called Manhunter. It was actually pretty good and starred William Pederson.

Well, I liked the part where Cartman got Congress to sing along to "Heat of the Moment".
