I got home in time for the final segment. Anything worth watching in the first 1:55? :-)

The show was a lot better than I expected. Some great performances and comedy. The only real clunkers were the Donna Summer group song and George Michael's solo at the end. Why they were included, I don't know.

“Archie gets a congratulations from Captain Kangaroo”

I think he’s enjoying the hug from Mrs. Moose better!! :)

My picks have been pretty good so far.
Season 1 - I liked Nikki McKibbon but picked Kelly Clarkson to win for the finals.
Season 2 - Ooops....I picked Clay in the finals. Me bad.
Season 3 - I thought Jennifer Hudson was the best singer in the bunch. In the finals, I figured that Fantazer would win with all the shameless pimping but I was rooting for Diana Degarmo.
Season 4 - Carrie from day one!!
Season 5 - Daughtry....but I had Taylor in the finals. I like Katharine McPhee but only with the sound muted.
Season 6 - Melinda was the best singer but I picked Jordon in the finals.
Season 7- David Cook from day one. (I really liked Kristy Lee Cook but knew she’s never make the finals.)

So for “finals” I’m 5 1/2 out of 7. (I counted Fantazer as 1/2 because I knew she’d win but didn’t root for her.)

Next year...???? Seacrest says that they’re making some changes for next year. They must be reading the tea leaves and hoping to boost the ratings.

Caldwell just asked Cook what was his most memorable moment, now that everything is over.

He said it was during one of his performances, where he was so nervous and he couldn't stop sweating. During a commercial break some of the staff went over and blow dried his armpits. lol

Just went to your home page - you are a wonderful artist.

You are really able to catch the essence of the person - a real talent.

Congratulations.

when G Michaels was singing his clap trap, the SD local station scrolled a message across the bottom of the screen, which said “sex offender on ride-along with police”

LOL--I was wondering who drove George to the theater :)

Yes! It would make me crazy. I’m really particular about my clothes, which is strange considering I’m usually a t-shirt, jeans and sandals (or Converse All-Stars) kinda gal.

I read that George Michael was NOT the world’s biggest star and that he arrived late had little time to rehearse, thus he ran over and bumped the world’s biggest star, which I’m guessing was Iron Man.

You should do it! I think the last Olympics thread host has moved on to another site, so the door is wide open for you :)

Ooooh yeah.... You know what is funny about that is I am the one who convinced her to start that thread. LOL

I'd hate to break my own record of almost 22,000 posts and only 16 threads posted.

year after year this wonderful thread, filled with such wit, wisdom, humor, fun, joy, and yes...some sadness at friends who are ill, and suffering, and others who don’t get the camaraderie here and try to disrupt it.

Well said, Sir Ed.

I can't thank you both enough for your kind words.

I would laugh during Idol and my wife would say Whaat? How could I possibly answer?

My husband would do the same thing. It's one of those things you can't really explain. LOL

Getting mildly serious for a second, I have heard this theory that people who are on a message board, in a virtual meeting room, on a conference call, or that sort of thing, they are sort of sharing the same space on a quantum level. IOW, they are mentally and energetically sharing the same space even if they aren't physically close. Like I said, it's just a theory (not mine), but it certainly feels true on FR live threads such as this. Like everyone is just in the next room or just out of the line of sight.

Okay, back to silliness!

Yes! It would make me crazy.

Why I get the most hilarious image of you fiddling with that scarf and ripping it to shreds when you had enough of it (after "3" drinks) is beyond me, but somehow I know this image fits you to a T! ;-)
