Only he lost to Morneau in the finals. A real collapse of concentration
He was amazing but like a guy in his first HR Derby, you don’t shoot the wad in the first round.
As soon as he was at 10 you stop and save yoru strength. He is a big guy and he was pounding the ball.
Yes, I did, Hamilton was awesome in that first round performance.
Did you hear Chris Berman's slap at Nancy Reagan during his at bat?
By now we all know the story: star athlete to Millionaire to drugged out waste, finds God and sobriety and returns to MLB.
Berman said(paraphrased): 'This is not Nancy Reagan territory, this is reality.'
What cheap comment.
A few years ago I owned David Wright in my fantasy league. Wright did well in the HR derby and proceeded to hit 4 the rest of the year. The derby screwed up his swing, he did not seem to go to right the remainder of the year.
This year I own Morneau AND Hamilton. I’m looking to trade them both.
He lost.
Lance Berkman isn’t bad either. He’s also a very good person and role model for our young people. That says a lot in today’s professional sports business.
The commentary was awful, but yesterday was a good day for baseball overall. The home run derby was pretty fun to watch (compared to previous ones) and even the celebrity softball game (which I normally shut off after an inning or so) was entertaining.
Josh Hamilton’s performance reminded me of Mark McGuire’s home runs in the 1999 Home Run Derby st Fenway Park.
