I loved your whole post... and am so glad to hear that you're as jazzed about Adam Lambert as I am. He's really just one of the best singers... dare I say it? Ever.

I'm very sad that the contest ended up as being portrayed as a war between "gays" and "Christians"... even here, unfortunately. There was such a beauty to the friendship between Adam and Kris... a true American, and Christian, spirit, a unity and shared concern, mutual respect and support.

I'm not upset that Kris won... my 6-year-old daughter was upset sufficiently for both of us and literally s-o-b-b-e-d for ten minutes... and the grace that both final contestants showed in that fateful moment should be a lesson to us all.

The picture that says it all.

How about this:

Who could they put on the show that would make you absolutely refuse to watch it?

He's got the best voice I've heard.  Oh I've heard some really great voices, and perhaps I'm forgetting them, but he's right up there if not truly the best.  His effortless range is amazing.  And folks who love to criticize his falsetto, they're welcome to give it a shot if they think it's that easy.

I'm very sad that the contest ended up as being portrayed as a war between "gays" and "Christians"... even here, unfortunately.

What is our mandate as Christians?  Are we supposed to kill, incarcerate, punish, disrespect, or mistreat homosexuals?  Of course not.  Are we supposed to hate them?  Of course not.

We let it be known that the homosexual lifestyle conflicts with our moral code.  Then we treat them like we treat other human beings with love and respect for the things we can love and respect.

Sandy and I have homosexual friends.  I genuinely like them.  When asked, we have been frank about our moral standing on the subject.  But we do not treat them as if they were guilty of something.

If God has a problem with them, and in my heart of hearts I believe He will, then He will sort it out with them.  I will treat them like I think Jesus would treat them.

Now, if the are going to try to sell their lifestyle to kids at school, I will stand against it.  If they want to legalize same sex marriage, I stand against it.  And I have been honest with them about this.

They know my stand on it, and they respect my views, and we remain friends.

I am as big a sinner as these people are.  One sin will keep us out of heaven.  I will stand before God, having my own set of problems.  I'm in no position to judge others.  I just have to live as best a life as I can.

I can't imagine not being friendly with people who have been friendly with me, and are living decent lives in every other way than this.

There was such a beauty to the friendship between Adam and Kris... a true American, and Christian, spirit, a unity and shared concern, mutual respect and support.

If you have a brother and he wins something you would have loved to have won, if you're a good person, you're still happy for your brother.  Adam was just fine with losing to Kris.  He was genuinely happy.  He congratulated him.  Kris said, "You belong up here."  Adam said, "No you do."  Adam is in many ways a class act.

I'm not upset that Kris won... my 6-year-old daughter was upset sufficiently for both of us and literally s-o-b-b-e-d for ten minutes... and the grace that both final contestants showed in that fateful moment should be a lesson to us all.

That's too bad.  I told myself the night before that Adam might not win and I came to terms with it.  I didn't want to be disappointed.  So I know how your daughter felt.  The guys were friends, and I knew both would be happy for the other, and I figured if they were okay with it, I should be too.

The picture that says it all.

Yes, I believe it does.  It covers all the emotions I might have expected, and I think they reacted as nice as I could have desired them to.

Kris will have a better chance of succeeding now.  Adam will succeed no matter what.  I can't pick fault with that.

My priopr post also includes each & every greeting/ping/word/pic/volley and,and,and...not just the Silent One/Purple One stuff...

I didn’t make that point clear. Those monikers cover everything & they also went well with the “...One another...” part in my prior post.

But You already know, when from You, to me, it’s All...good!!!!! :)

omg... you and matt’s mole. Hopefully next year we'll have a contestant with a goiter, or else it'll all be a let down.

HAHAHAHA!! I'll make a dancing goiter gif! So many possibilities :-D

The adults around here hate everything. I think they were the grownups in Footloose.

LOL!

Oh okay :) I didn't understand when I first read it (I blame it on being sleep-deprived, LOL)

How very Christian of you!

Would it be Christian of me to support Idol's agenda with Adam? They definitely had one--it wasn't just about singing this year.

I mentioned it last night, but I think I’m going to be taking my tattooed chunky self on a FR break.

LOL! :)

I understand. I'm planning on leaving the computer OFF all Memorial Day weekend at least. I hope you enjoy your time away too (but don't stay away too long! :)
