The phone company can’t just decide to randomly “shut down the lines.” It’s more of a process then the flip of a switch.
I’m not saying they don’t manipulate totals or pull tactics like throwing out votes, contestant placement, or sympathy ploys (Lil’s kids, Danny’s wife, etc) and on and on. But I highly doubt that AT&T is shutting down entire trunk group in cahoots with AI.

Agree, glasses would be in the plus column re:Scott...again take a que from Ronnie M. Stevie Wonder...Ray Charles...They all could sing and wore sunglasses!!!

Or chipped the polish! the scary thing is that his dad and mom seem so normal! What happened to him that he is so out there and in your face? Usually those types had a bizarre family life. His parents are big ol' hippies.
From a FoxNews.Com article:
Almost more interesting than Adam, though, is his dad, Eber Lambert. This is where the theatricality comes from. Eber Lambert is the host of Poetry Open Mic night in San Diego at Rebeccas in South Park, Hes also an aspiring writer himself, working with San Diego Writers Ink. According to Eber Lamberts bio, he was born the son of a tent re-canvaser in Outer Mongolia before being sublimated and reissued in Hinesburg, Vermont in the mid 1960s. He began writing disturbed poetry and prose much to the chagrin and repeated dissuasion of his writing teachers in college. So he became an electrical engineer and wrote strictly as a creative outlet for the next 25 years. In the 80s, he worked for the secret Nixon government and developed technology for Post-Extinction Warfare and Time Dilation Reality Modulators. After an extended midlife crisis in the late 90s, he narrowly escaped a track home suburban existence, underwent extensive deprogramming to emerge in 2002 divorced, the father of grown children and ready to resume his 20s. Still a part time writer, allegedly 37.3 percent of the way through his first novel, Eber spends his days working toward the Quixotic goal of early retirement at least, this is the way Eber tells it.
You can hear one of Eber Lamberts pieces, about Jesus getting all the babes here. It begins: Jesus and the Apostles were an early psychedelic garage band that rode into Jerusalem on chopped Harley mules. Its pretty amusing, actually.

I can't believe anyone else had the Back To The Future soundtrack--LOL!! It was huge that year! I had it, too. On tape! LOL

I don’t get that...not sure I want to. How on earth does that statement make any sense?

” I didnt see Adams performance that everyones raving about, my darn Moxi box stopped the recording at 1 hour”
Pure artistry , and defines him as the best pure vocalist in this years competition.
Danny is very good, but can’t carry the whole tune with just his voice as Adam did last night.
If you can see it, make sure you watch.
My brother / sister in law hated him , but turned around after that performance.

Sorry I missed you guys last night. Had to work. :(
dialidol has Kris going home with Anoop in the bottom 2. If that is true, it’s a tragedy because Kris certainly does not deserve to go home yet and I think is a good candidate for the judges save.
I thought Kris’ performance was better than the judges and I really thought Anoop showed some serious vocal ability with his song.
The bottom 2???? Come on America!
I thought the judges save was going to be reserved for Lil, but they seem disenchanted with her now.
Speaking of Lil, she’s in the 4 spot again. Who is voting for this girl, or for Scott for that matter? I don’t get it.
And Adam, no doubt he has talent but I just simply can’t jump on the bandwagon with him. Something about him irritates me and I don’t like the fact that there seems to be such an odds on favorite so soon.

Matt was good - I kept kgetting Bobby Caldwell flashbacks.
Missed Adam entirely - the DVR shut off on time.
Loved Danny, Allison and Kris, again.

I think were in some agreement.
Heres my take on last night: Boring, boring, boring! Should have been titled Songs in the year WE were BORED! (Only my top 2 were worth their weight in this thing and thats not saying much!)
1. Allison Clarkson - I Cant make You Love Me Allisons clearly the best vocalist in the sad bunch. Simon made a good point as her personality may be whats holding her down. Shes not as bubbly as the other 16 year old winner, Jordan Sparks. Hopefully shell take that to heart so her vote counts go up.
2. Danny Downy Jr. - Stand By Me Not one of his best but hes a very good singer and hes a likable guy. (That may get him to win this thing about gay Adam.)
3. Anoop Call-Center - True Colors The kids got a decent voice but that song would put a crying child to sleep. Hope he gets a chance to step it up a bit next week.
4. Kris Average - All She Wants to do is Dance Bad version of the song but the kids got talent. Unfortunatly, dial Idol has him going home tonight.
5. Matt Timberlake - Part time Lover I dont see what the judges saw last night. I like the kids voice but thought it was good karaoke at best.
6. Adam Fag-butt - Mad World I dont get this kid. He sings like he got himself caught in his zipper with those mad high notes. I thought it was boring and self obsessive.
7. Scott Wonka - The Search is Over Started out OK but went down hill fast. This may be his swan song. The search is over for his stay on idol.
8. Lil Obama - Whats Love got to do With it Whats talent got to do with it?? At least the judges finally see her for what she is, a lame copy of past black females who could sing rounds (no pun intended) around her! But the Obama votes will keep her in Im sorry to say.
Who will go: Kris or maybe Scott.
Who SHOULD go: Lil should have gone 2 weeks ago!
To: silent_jonny
Really hard to rank from last night... a whole lot of "meh" out there. I doubt anyone truly helped or hurt themselves this week.
Rankings for the week:
- Adam -- I can't stand him, personally, but I have to give credit for a good performance here. Not sure why this go the "pimp slot", as it was an odd song choice for the end of the show.
- Allison -- Called it! (Sort of.) Good song choice, good performance. The judges seem as perplexed as I as to why she keeps ending up in the bottom 3.
- Danny -- A little shaky at first, but he finished strong and delivered another solid, but not spectacular, performance. He won't be able to displace Adam on his own, but he'd be the biggest beneficiary if Adam is ever voted off.
- Matt -- Didn't try to be a "copycat", which is good. performance was OK.
- Anoop -- The kid is clearly smart... he did a good mea culpa (whether you believe him or not) for last week's arrogance, and his song choice was a lot better, too. I don't buy him as a legit contender, but he certainly has a pleasant voice.
- Kris -- Nothing really wrong here, just a step down from the last few weeks, and nothing particularly special.
- Lil -- Better than last week (not that this was a hard obstacle to overcome), but why do the judges feel the need to remind us every week how "great" of a singer you really are? Because your performances have been crap, that's why.
- Scott -- Vocal weaknesses are showing more and more, and he really needs to stay behind the piano.

If you missed Adam, just rent this film and it's pretty much the same thing.
To: TonyWpi
If you missed Adam, just rent this film and it's pretty much the same thing. Yeah... that's the real puzzle about Adam -- I mean, what's he going to do, revive the "gay classic rock" era of RHPS or Queen? That's, like, 25 or 30 years ago, folks...
To: conservativebabe
And Adam, no doubt he has talent but I just simply cant jump on the bandwagon with him. Something about him irritates me and I dont like the fact that there seems to be such an odds on favorite so soon.I agree. He's clearly not an amateur either. Yes, other contestants have had self-produced albums out, but he was in the touring company of Wicked. That's not like some teeny off-broadway show no one has heard of. That bugs me a lot.
To: EmilyGeiger
Thanks for the info. We don’t have Cracker Barrel up north here, but I can get my Tennessee granddaughter to buy some for me.

Yeah... that's the real puzzle about Adam -- I mean, what's he going to do, revive the "gay classic rock" era of RHPS or Queen?
I had this dilemma. But, I've decided that some entertainers' talent supersedes my prejudices. If, for no other reason than, their performances are so good-I forget what it was I disliked about the person
This where Adam excels, IMO. After his last 2 performances, I have forgotten about the disgusting pictures, and his past statements, and the thoughts of his "dark" lifestyle. Last night I had flashes of Jesus Christ Superstar and Phantom of the Opera.
Probably easier for me to allow myself to think like that, as I love musicals, especially Rock/Hip musicals. LOL (child of the 60's, what can I say?) As a single parent, my kids were very much used to being drug to the different musical venues in and around L.A. :O)
I would not be surprised to see Idol have 2 Co-Winners this year!
Would that be the case, it would be my pick that they are Allison and Adam. My criteria for selection is...would I plunk down my hard earned cash and actually buy their songs?
BTW, I'm still waiting for a "Janice Joplin" reincarnate to appear. LOL

I sure hope you’re right...pushing certain singers and storylines is one thing, but shutting down phone lines is something else entirely!

The best thing about this weeks show (for me anyways), was they were all born in the 80's, so the songs were from a great era of music!!!
Me at age 3...
And here are my thoughts for this week (best to worse):
#1
ADAM LAMBERT - "MAD WORLD"Well, the world is going mad now with your latest performance. Damn boy....I just love you more and more. I love your voice, your style and I think you will win this thing. And for the record, I do not think you are gay. I think you are a rocker, and you are unique and just because you have great vocal range and can sing high notes and you dress weird, does NOT make you gay.
#2
ALLISON IRAHETA - "I CAN'T MAKE YOU LOVE ME"With a voice like that, you sure can make me love you. I keep reminding myself you are only 16 and I am impressed more and more with your talent. I love the smokiness in your voice and I believe if you don't win this thing, you'll be runner up and will have a recording contract before a winner is decided anyway. Once again, you rock.
#3
KRIS ALLEN - "ALL SHE WANTS TO DO IS DANCE" All I wanted to do was dance to this song...and sing along. I really liked it. And screw the judges.
I think you made the song enjoyable and very much "your own".
#4
ANOOP DESAI - "TRUE COLORS"The true colors are what Paula sees after you sing. It was ok for me...but you still aren't as good as the top 3.
#5
DANNY GOKEY - "STAND BY ME"Stand by me and watch me do the same song and dance every week. No thank you. I don't really like this song much and didn't care for this version of the song either. I don't understand the hype about you, because you seem to be one of those singers who sounds and looks the same no matter what you do, and that gets old......and boring.
#6
MATT GIRAUD - "PART TIME LOVER"Part time singer...looking for work. I look and sound like an amateur Justin Timberlake with a bit of soul. I am available for nights and weekends and can perform to any audience, as long as I can croon and show off the mole on my forehead.
#7
LIL ROUNDS - "WHAT'S LOVE GOT TO DO WITH IT" What's talent got to do with it? I mean, come on, Tina Turner? Give up Lil. You can sing, I'll give you that, but not such big songs. Be yourself and find something you fit, and stop pretending girl.
#8
SCOTT MACINTYRE - "THE SEARCH IS OVER" The search is over and we found the American Idol. But it isn't you, it's Adam. Sorry, you don't even compare. I found myself laughing at this song you chose, and some of the lyrics (Now I look into your eyes...I can see forever)....not to make fun of a blind guy, but you could have picked something with lyrics that might have fit you more. It sounded very karaoke.
And Simon is still precocious...

“this is a dull, dry group of people”
Agree. I can’t even pick out a personl favorite, even this late in the game.
We have one ringer—Adam—who is too professional to even be in this group, and seven very average other people.
The one who stands out a little is Allison, and she’s too young. After Jordan Sparks, who really hasn’t done much but a bunch of “Star Spangled Banners”, I don’t think TPTB want another teenager. A teenager’s voice is unpredictable—it may get better or it may get worse. Kids like Allison, whose voices have not been properly trained, often blow out their pipes early on in their career.
I predict that this is the last season of American Idol.
