your right there is a dilemma these guys have to do their job but they also have to respect constitutional rights
for drugs if they really feel that someone has drugs they can get the dogs....and as far as a terrorist...tough call but i’m sure dogs can sniff explosives as well

I didn’t say they found it on HIM, they find it at the checkpoints. Dope at every checkpoint, i think the islamic bomber was caught by one near Seattle. And they find it all by looking at suspicious people, like your hero. All he did was make a bunch of people with JOBS late for work. Guess when you live off the offering plate you dont really *have* deadlines to keep.

Sometimes it may come to that. Would you rather they just sit there for days and hope that he comes out on his own? The side of the road is not the place to debate criminal/civil law. Police(especially the Border Patrol) have a hard enough job without people like this trying to make a name for themselves.

I wouldn’t let them search my stuff either. The guy does have a point. He was a jerk about it from the get go and that’s why it was such a problem. These BPs are just trying to do their job, and I can see that they were irritated, but pulling out the weapon and the tools to do stuff to his car was way over the top. They ended up on the wrong side, and that’s kind of sad.

Actually I thought they were way too casual. Almost to the point of placing theirself in too much position of disadvantage. Leaning on arms in the window, etc. They were at tragic risk of a man who shows he’s a nut. He could have easily killed one if he wanted to. And they behaved that way to appease nuts who try to bait them.
They were good guys. Hope they always remain safe in their thankless job.

Yawwwn,,,,He wanted to get in a fight, and likely forced their hand somehow. It was *obviously* his goal of the day. Next time i drive through there, im going to thank them. Hope no agents were harmed when he fought them.
Jerk shoulda been home with his family. The day will come when his kids are grown that he might realize that wasting even a single day in jail, away from them, for fun was pretty stupid when he could have spent it with them.

They let him go because they finally ID’ed him, realized he was just a protester type hoping to be detained, and decided not to waste anymore time on him. All he had to do was roll down the window, say “US Citizen” and drive on. The refusing to roll down the window silliness was what started it all.
Well guys, pretty amazing, but got to run.
Ill believe he has balls when i see him protest that way at a Federale or Mexican Army checkpoint, DEEP INSIDE MEXICO.
Or if thats too much for him, he can join the US Army. He only “took on” honorable decent cops, in front of a freeway full of cars, real brave.
