VANITY: When Obamacare is signed into law, what will happen?
12/19/09 | rintense

Posted on 12/19/2009 8:26:37 AM PST by rintense

With the likelihood of Obamacare passing (thank you, traitor Ben Nelson), it sets the stage for a number of scenarios to occur. Since the majority of Obama's ill-informed minions know they won't be eligible for universal health care until 2013, the flood of folks running to ERs will create a huge problem. Now, perhaps it won't happen. But, the memories of Katrina are permanently etched into my mind. And the 'take what is mine now' mentality is a possible ramification of the bill's passage.

So let me ask you, freepers, what do you see happening to this country as a whole once the bill is signed? As a normally optimistic person, it pains me to say I can't find any good to come of this. In fact, I've put on some tin foil at where this could go (worst case scenario).

Here is the worst case scenario I see:

1. The minute the bill is signed into law, ERs around the country are flooded. Private practices will also have to physically remove those who insist on being treated. Fights and small riots will break out.

2. Obama will have 'no choice' but to force hospitals, etc. to treat those seeking help, and allegedly offer to compensate them immediately.

3. Doctors, nurses, etc. will say screw that and walk away.

4. Within six months, a third of US doctors and nurses will be 'on strike', leading to long lines for treatment, especially in ERs.

5. Because of this 'national emergency', Obama will suspend the Posse Comitatus Act, and have national guard troops in large cities making sure 'peace' prevails.

6.Meanwhile, the states who have passed sovereignty bills will revolt not only against the HC bill, but the unconstitutional seizure of the HC industry, long before the targeted year of 2013.

7.Obama will not have this, and will use the troops already in these states to muscle his intentions. As a result, all elections are put on indefinite hold, and all civil liberties are suspended. FEMA camps are converted into rebel detention facilities.

8.US troops, conflicted by duty, honor and country, and the orders issued by their superiors, will simply walk away. US soldiers are not prepared to fire on American citizens- and will not do so.

9.Choas ensues, with rebellion in the military and at the state level, with armed citizens now forcefully attempting a government overthrow. Masses will flee big cities and head for the heartland.

10.With the US military no longer existing in its historic form, Obama creates a civilian police force of loyalist, who are armed and will confront rebels with force. These loyalist have no problem killing their American brethren.

11.With civil war now engulfing the United States, the world economy has collapsed, and countries like China, Iran and Russia use the crisis to do their own military conquering. China forcefully retakes Taiwan, Russia goes after anyone they can, and Iran starts the bombing of Israel. Without the US, Israel is on its own. Countries like GB, France, etc. won't move a muscle and will stay neutral.

12. With no success as quelling the rebellion at home, Obama will request foreign troops on American soil to 'keep the peace'.

13. I don't even want to think about 13.

Perhaps the foreign army is an army of foreign doctors?

One thing for sure pre-existing conditions for children cannot be considered by insurance companies starting immediately. Since the rates for children’s coverage is so low I see rates in general going up.

Governments and charity hospitals will be paying the insurance premiums for their sick kids.

I think we will eventually have a severe shortage of doctors and quality of care will be much worse than it already is. I don’t think most doctors become doctors to become rich, but I think they do want to be able to provide good care to the best of their ability and they won’t be able to do that. I’ve had doctors tell me that the cost of malpractice insurance drives doctors right out of their business, yet this bill doesn’t address tort reform. Ins companies know how much it costs just to defend all the cases and therefore malpractice insurance is a huge reason that healthcare costs are so high. This bill is insane but what can we expect when people are in charge and have a majority that are communists to their core. I think it will take years for the full impact of this to be felt.

Taxes will go way, way up, and doctors will bail.

Take a number, America.

It isn’t difficult to imagine the moves of liberals. Motive always drives their next move. And we all know their motive is power- total and complete. Oh, and money- your money. If you consider existing liberals, esp. Obama, a scenario like this really isn’t that hard to imagine.

Spot on. Just travel to Toronto or London and that's what you'll see.

I agree with you. There will be shortage of qualified personnel because many will not want to work for the government. Once the government took over in the 60s, there was probably an uptick in private schools.
And as the government run entities continued to prove their incompetence over time, the capitalist pigs:)developed alternate systems to increase the quality of education and to turn a profit.

And yes, I am a capitalist pig and love pork

>>1. Constitutionality challenged.

Constitutionality?!?! What does that have to do with anything in the Obamanation? They control the congress, the alphabet agencies, and most of the court. They wipe their butts with the Constitution.

Yes they do, and there's nothing wrong with that if they do the job well. Being independent used to be an attraction to the profession but that's history now for the most part.

We need to start thinking out of the box here.

Can we get these retiring doctors to start setting up practices just across the border in either Mexico or Canada?

There hasn’t been anything but in the ER of any big American City Hospital for ten-fifteen years...

“and it isn’t my intention to foster fear..”

What’s wrong with fostering fear? For that matter, what’s wrong with yelling “fire” in a theater if indeed there is a fire.

The Marxists are going for broke, they will seize the power. Then they’ll tie it up for decades because they know that the citizen is basically law abiding sheeple.

This country is basically screwed!

In the Soviet days, people that had reason t fear arrest voluntarily moved to Siberia before the knock on the door came. There they could live outside the gulags instead of in them. These thugs have already been knocking on our doors for years now with NO pushback. Our social body has been destroyed.

I have no nice solutions. Just remember: it took seventy years for the Soviet Beast to consume itself, and that was only because it was denied fresh conquest.

I, personally, have lost everything of value to liberalism. I only wish t flee this mess to find some peaace in solitude. If there’s some sign of resistance to this catastrophy I may be back to help.

The number of applications to medical schools across the country will decrease, as the top tier candidates head into other fields where they can more maintain their autonomy and put their intelligence to good use.

The remaining applicants will be sub-par leading to the continued downward spiral . . .

Funny you should ask this. As I said in an earlier post here my doctor has stated he will retire. What is interesting is he knew we went to Sydney, Australia, earlier this year. He was asking me all kinds of questions about the city, how it felt, what the people were like, etc. I have half a notion he is thinking of moving there.

I think there will be those who move away from the US. But with the impending global economic collapse, there really won’t be a good place to be. Well, unless its a year-round temperate climate.

I should have said, I don’t think that is their primary motive. I only say it out of conversations I’ve have with them. Of course, they expect to be compensated fairly and for as hard as they work and have invested in their career, they should be compensated very well. I’ve never had a problem with doctor’s salaries. I just don’t think that very many people go into medicine with the primary reason being that they just want to become rich.
