With the likelihood of Obamacare passing (thank you, traitor Ben Nelson), it sets the stage for a number of scenarios to occur. Since the majority of Obama's ill-informed minions know they won't be eligible for universal health care until 2013, the flood of folks running to ERs will create a huge problem. Now, perhaps it won't happen. But, the memories of Katrina are permanently etched into my mind. And the 'take what is mine now' mentality is a possible ramification of the bill's passage.
So let me ask you, freepers, what do you see happening to this country as a whole once the bill is signed? As a normally optimistic person, it pains me to say I can't find any good to come of this. In fact, I've put on some tin foil at where this could go (worst case scenario).
Here is the worst case scenario I see:
1. The minute the bill is signed into law, ERs around the country are flooded. Private practices will also have to physically remove those who insist on being treated. Fights and small riots will break out.
2. Obama will have 'no choice' but to force hospitals, etc. to treat those seeking help, and allegedly offer to compensate them immediately.
3. Doctors, nurses, etc. will say screw that and walk away.
4. Within six months, a third of US doctors and nurses will be 'on strike', leading to long lines for treatment, especially in ERs.
5. Because of this 'national emergency', Obama will suspend the Posse Comitatus Act, and have national guard troops in large cities making sure 'peace' prevails.
6.Meanwhile, the states who have passed sovereignty bills will revolt not only against the HC bill, but the unconstitutional seizure of the HC industry, long before the targeted year of 2013.
7.Obama will not have this, and will use the troops already in these states to muscle his intentions. As a result, all elections are put on indefinite hold, and all civil liberties are suspended. FEMA camps are converted into rebel detention facilities.
8.US troops, conflicted by duty, honor and country, and the orders issued by their superiors, will simply walk away. US soldiers are not prepared to fire on American citizens- and will not do so.
9.Choas ensues, with rebellion in the military and at the state level, with armed citizens now forcefully attempting a government overthrow. Masses will flee big cities and head for the heartland.
10.With the US military no longer existing in its historic form, Obama creates a civilian police force of loyalist, who are armed and will confront rebels with force. These loyalist have no problem killing their American brethren.
11.With civil war now engulfing the United States, the world economy has collapsed, and countries like China, Iran and Russia use the crisis to do their own military conquering. China forcefully retakes Taiwan, Russia goes after anyone they can, and Iran starts the bombing of Israel. Without the US, Israel is on its own. Countries like GB, France, etc. won't move a muscle and will stay neutral.
12. With no success as quelling the rebellion at home, Obama will request foreign troops on American soil to 'keep the peace'.

I see what you are saying, backfire time. Heck, we could encourage it, get all of them to go to the ER for their free Obama Treatment, Obama Drugs, and Obama Money. The faster the zero fan club burns out, the faster we can move on to fix this damn thing.

Freed from the pretense of government compliance, you’ll be able to get anything you want on the black market, provided you have the money.
Medical tourism will flourish.
Black market pharmaceuticals will be easily available, allowing folks to avoid the lines at remaining available medical care.
Enterprising doctors will return to work making housecalls, outside of government supervision.

i simply believe in the will of the american people. when the taxes start flying and the services pile up people are going to raise hell. they are going to vote for someone to change this. you and others may chose to look at this in a final light, i see it as grease build up on a cast iron skillet, eventually one has to clean and reseason it.

First thing to happen ... more taxes will be taken out of your paycheck and or you will pay fines.
In 2013 ... you will see a bankrupt Nationalized Heathcare System asking the citizens for more money to fund it.
Then medical will be rationed.
Everyone should encourage their doctor to “go rogue” like this.
100 patients @ $100/month could yield a fairly decent tax-free income for a GP.
If you need surgery, go to India at a fraction of the cost.
Everyone is happy. patients have more money, doctors have more money......win-win. It’s the American way!

nope, just until they can’t be paid for anymore. entitlements are services or goods. if there’s no way to pay for them then there’s rationing. that is going to be the sticking point for this balderdash. it will end, probably even before it’s enacted.

It’s not pretty to watch, but when you stop oiling the steam-powered calliope of government, all you have to do is sit back as it falls to pieces all on its own.
It is clear our government will not reduce itself deliberately, so it will have to fall apart on its own. Once the bureaucratic budget infighting starts, it won’t be long at all.
In the meantime, encourage and participate in the black market. It is your patriotic duty.
You and I will certainly vote to change it; however, the "American people" have been frogs in the pot for several decades now. Do you think we'd be in this mess to begin with, with a foreign faux president, otherwise? Besides which, amnesty is coming fast, ensuring another 12-15 million (at least) who will gleefully pull the lever to ensure our slavery. You can bet the Dems know 2010 is in the bag, that is the only rational explanation for their utterly willful, in-your-face ignoring of public opinion on HC. Fraud, thuggery, media aiding & abetting, and of course all those new "citizens" will take care of 2012. I do believe at some point there will be violence between government officials and their minions, and those of us still producing and being mugged. But I do not believe, in my lifetime, there will be an end or even a slowing of this socialist march. The seeds for this were sown in the 1930s and the harvest is coming in; it will take more than a "Republican sweep" of the next election (should it occur) to even make a dent. You may see all this as pessimism and throwing in the towel, but it is reality as I see it. I truly believe it will be up to a future generation to reclaim liberty.
i don’t see us as frogs in a pot as much as a cat in the corner. a cat will sit there contently until you start poking it with a stick. at first it believes you are playing with it, but as the poking gets harder and more often it starts to hiss and scratch. in the end, it attacks.
there is much to what you believe however, i simply don’t believe it will happen in future generations. i believe it will happen this decade hopefully peacefully.

ERs and clinics will be overwhelmed with increased traffic.
People who previously ignored small aches and pains, cuts and bruises will now feel they need to get their money’s worth from the forced purchase of their insurance.
Biggest immediate effect will be increased demand for service vs. reduced services available.
Doctors and providers will become more militant, demanding fair compensation for their efforts as government gets more and more difficult to work with.
