Lame Census Bureau Sends A Letter Stating The Census Form Is On Its Way?

I open my mailbox yesterday and I have a letter from the Census Bureau. I'm thinking it's the short form because it's in a regular envelope.

So I open it up and it's a letter stating that the actual Census form will be mailed in about a week. I guess that means I need to cancel my vacation so I can be home to respond to the census.

Talk about a waste of taxpayer dollars. Maybe they were figuring this would give the US Postal Service something to do?

The Soc Security admin letter is actually useful. It shows a record of your ‘contributions’ (I know) and can help tip you off to anyone else using your social security number.

I too got a letter saying I’d be getting a letter which came as a complete surprise since I hadn’t gotten a letter advising me of the forthcoming first letter.
