HOQUIAM, Wash. – Police say a man was carrying a dead weasel when he burst into an apartment and assaulted a man in Washington state.

The victim asked, "Why are you carrying a weasel?" Police said the attacker answered, "It's not a weasel, it's a marten," then punched him in the nose and fled.

Well, I don’t think any of us is liberal, so it doesn’t matter.

Someone on the NC Forum told me to spray my bell pepper plants with soap solution to keep Something from eating the peppers. Have you ever tried this?

ThomasThomas needs to finish a walk way in his yard that is 100 ft long. He has 50 1’ square stepping stone 1.25’ thick spaced 12” apart. Lining the path on both sides is 300 red clay bricks 8”x4”x2.5” 150 on each side. The space between the clay brick and stepping stone is 1.5” on both side. Each bag of grave to be placed 1” deep around the stepping and in between the stepping stones is 3/4 of a cubic foot. The average gate of a man is 31” and the average gait of a woman is 26” How many bags of grave will he need?

I wish!
Oh, I was called a liberal by another Conservative. Which is funny because back when I was a democrat, I was accused of being too conservative, LOL!

Go figure! Oh Well! On to the party!

That’s so AMERICAN!!!

Thanks!

And good morning. My vigil here is nearly over, and I think I’ll be going home tomorrow, after I’ve changed the sheets on the Dowager’s bed, cleaned her room and her bathroom, and finished up the little cleaning that will be inevitably left by her.

It has been an interesting month, to say the least.

(Not to mention I got no pay for it.)

Good morning! God will reward you!

I always get sniffly seeing the soldiers with their little pets. Everyone needs to hug a kitten sometimes.

Howdy! MIL wants me to cook a Mexican Food night.......ugh. I haven’t cooked Mexican food in YEARS. Mr Coldone is the cook these days. Anyone have a recipe for Taco Meat, or a Mexican Food one? I will look online later today.

1 lb. ground beef
1 bell pepper
1 onion
1 can black beans, drained and rinsed

Brown the ground beef with the bell pepper and onion until thoroughly cooked. Add the black beans and stir.

1/3 c. water
1 pkgs. McCormick taco seasoning
1/2 tsp. cumin

Stir until fully combined. Simmer until water is evaporated. Spoon into corn tortilla shells or warmed flour tortillas. Top with shredded cheese and sour cream, if desired.

OR:

As taco salad. Place several corn chips in the bottom of a bowl. Add meat filling. Sprinkle with cheese. Tbs. of sour cream. Lettuce and chopped tomato. Add salsa or any salad dressing.

You’re welcome! This is quick and easy, and can be done with any ground meat, or vegetarian using beans and rice. And it’s easily expanded for any number of starving Scouts.

Oh, that should be 2 pkgs of taco seasoning, if you’re using the meat and the beans. But don’t use a whole cup of water or it will take forever to cook down. And drain the meat after browning, if you don’t use extra-lean.

McCormick sells a chicken-taco seasoning package, so you could use the same general recipe with cooked, cut-up or shredded chicken. Saute the vegetables first, and then add the chicken to heat. Or you could use grilled chicken strips, sprinkle with Southwestern seasoning and add vegetables, either cooked or crisp. I like my onions cooked.

You can also add shredded lettuce.

As I suspected, my being cast out here in the wilds of Pennsylvania has meant that my ability to communicate is severely curtailed.

Fortunately, I’ve managed to “weasel” my way into the local library for a short period, to at least get a message out. I have survived the journey, so far.

Thanks, Darks, for stepping into the breach. You’ve done a masterful job!

We should be seeing another impressive Fourth of July firewords show again this year. I’ll let you know if any arms or legs go flying through the air this time.

Welcome aboard, Stoat! I hope you don’t find it depressing if we tell you that you fit right in.

I expect to return to my regular bailiwick after the Fourth.

Y’all be careful!

“Firewords” ... so much for my vaunted copy-reading skills.

I kinda like it.
