Conceal Carry choice need some help
Vanity | 12/3/11 | Recon dad

Posted on 12/03/2011 2:21:36 PM PST by Recon Dad

I've got a conceal Carry choice between CZ 2075 40 cal or Sig Sauer P 250 40 cal. Both are sub compacts and the size, weight and price differences are within reason. I have not shot either gun but have been going through any reviews I can find. (the reason for the 40 cal is because I presently have a Glock 22 and want to go small)

Both gun makers get rave reviews but the Sig is a fairly new model and a number of reviews indicated various issues.

I'd like to shoot both guns before I buy one but I don't know if I'm going to get a chance.

Any help on the best way to proceed will be appreciated.

Got a Kahr P9, myself. More of a challenge to shoot it, vs my Walther P99 in 40S&W, but it’s also much smaller and lighter, and far easier to conceal.

CCW is all about legality, ability and possession.

I’m wanting a S&W Body Guard 380 with integrated laser not because I need it, but because I want it. I don’t own a handgun with a laser although I should.

I’ve even thought about a S&W 500 using an ankle holster and a 10+ inch barrel. There’s something a bit positive about owning a firearm that puts fear of the Lord merely by looking at it, and before shooting it or hearing the muzzle blast.

If you like their DAK trigger, the P250 can be whatever you want it to be.

Pick your caliber, choose from three different grip sizes, and do you want it sub, compact, full or all the above?

You can change it around to fit your mood, ammo, whatever you and your checkbook decide.

IMHO, it is the Cadallac of handguns.

Just shows a person how far the USA has sunk, when FReepers don't know how to spell Cadillac.

Depends on the state. CA, when you can get one, requires you to list the firearms you will be carrying and you can only have 4, no .22 Caliber, .25 and above.

“Go shoot the Springfield XDM 40 subcompact. You will be surprised I promise.”

I’ll second that! Great little shhoter! Smoother than my small frame 9mm.

I have a Sig P250 compact but it is still quite large. Take a look at the Taurus 740 Slim it is slim and smooth fits in my jeans back pocket shoots very well.

Every gun seems huge when you are looking down the barrel.

Thanks, I'll take a look. I believe I saw one the other day and even without picking it up thought it might be too small for my hands, but I'm going to check it out.

I've read about how multi purpose the P250 is and I didn't see anyone complaining about it.

I have one of these. It’s a nice and compact weapon with a good sized caliber. I’ve got a Colt Defender which is almost the same, but doesn’t have the low profile sights, etc... I like the looks of the Defender better.

My wife has a laser on one of her guns and I have one on an HK. They take some tweaking to get them dialed in. My wife’s was shooting way off I gave it a try and made it worse. My son fixed it in two seconds.

Me too...Kahr CW9

Kahr CW9 here as well. It's amazingly thin yet still fits my hand nicely.

A Glock 36 chambered in .45ACP, with Meprolight night sights, Pearce 1+ round extensions for the magazines, is an extremely good setup. A good Kydex holster, or a reinforced leather IWB holster, makes for a good carry package. Once you’re comfortable with shooting the Glock (put at least 500 rounds through it, and definitely plenty of hollow points, because you want to shoot what you carry,)you can check out companies like Lone Wolf Distributors, who specialize in upgrade accessories for the Glock product line.
