Way back in the pioneer/homesteading days, pigs would sometimes be pastured with cattle and horses and gladly ate whatever the livestock dropped along with their constant rooting for anything edible. Maybe a month before fall butchering they were given corn to flush things out, so to speak. A fart scented with onions doesn’t sound so bad.

That is probably why he is feeding them onions.The meat will pick up the taste of the diet.

He better feed them with corn for about 90 days before slaughter to get the onion taste out of the meat! As is, the meat will be unedible.

He will probably have healthier pigs. Onions are from the same family as garlic and have great antibiotic and antimicrobial properties.
