Union Twinkies probably wouldn’t even survive a nuclear blast.

Hell, it don't make no difference anyhow ... not since sugar ain't sugar and all the stuff that made 1950's American snacks the best on the planet got FDA'd out of what made it all taste good.

I enJOYED rotting my teeth out with the crap I ate back then.

In the super bowl commercial for gm, there was a reference to twinkies.

Was that a warning of a strike?

If the company goes Chapter 7 the Twinkie name, trademark and recipe will just be sold off to some other company to satisfy the debts. And I’d be willing to bet a non-union company will buy them.

Unions sure know how to shoot themselves in both feet and in the a*s at the same time.

They should all lose their jobs. Give them to the unemployed. Screw unions everywhere. I’m sick of all of these leftist thugs. The rest of us working stiffs should go on strike. Liberals everywhere deserve to go bankrupt.

The strike is salvation

The union will be locked out and new workers hired at an affordable rate and pension and benefits retored at a more reasonable level.

When the violence starts, Teamsters will begin to die

Hostess has 39 bakeries throughout the United States, so it would be a good idea to use its Chapter 11 to have production only in Right to Work states.

If they couldn’t do that in a straightforward manner, then Hostess’ owners could set up a parallel company, take Hostess into Chapter 7 (liquidation), sell off its useful assets to the new company, along with its patents, copyrights and trademarks.

The new company would need to re-brand the Hostess name and the names of their products, but otherwise they would be back in business without debt, and no nasty union contracts.

Also the Chicago, Rock Island & Pacific railroad. The Brotherhood of Railway and Airline Clerks decided to show The Rock that they meant business... in the aftermath, any really important RI assets were snapped up in the subsequent "fire sale," the marginal branches were either abandoned or left to small outfits with low labor costs, and there were a lot of EX-railway clerks who found out that taking the company's scalp didn't put much food on the table.
