Bush Sr. Endorsed Romney. But Where Is George W. Bush? Romney Needs His Endorsement Quickly, Right?

So many (Ryan, Rubio, GHWB, etc) have come forward recently to endorse Romney to be the standard-bearer for the GOP. But curiously missing is GWB...

Secondly, Bill Clinton has said very recently that he will soon hold fund-raisers and even stump? for Obama.

So where is 43 at - and very recently at that?

Pro-Romney forces have said that it is time to quickly rally around the front-runner (Romney). If so, then what better way than for perhaps Romney, Ryan, Rubio, etc, to get or seek Bush 43 to quickly endorse Romney, stump for him and hold fund-raisers for Romney?

I mean, on April 3, the only state that matters is Wisconsin, as Romney will not win the bluest-of-blue Maryland in the general election.

And later in April, even if Romney wins New York and Rhode Island and others on that day, he doesn't have a prayer of taking these states from Obama. They are beyond bluest-of-blue. Pennsylvania is another matter though. That state can be more easily won by either Romney or Santorum in the general election than the other primary states like New York, Maryland, Rhode Island and others at stake in April.

Come to think of it, many states that Romney has won so far in the GOP primary race will not flip to the GOP in the general election.

So what is the big deal about Romney being half-way to 1144? It would seem then that Romney needs GWB, and quickly, right?

Sure, yeah, right....Obama ran against outgoing Bush last time.

He would love to do that again.

A Gallup poll found that only 35% of Romney supporters are “enthusiastic” about Romney, while 19% said that they would stay home or vote for Obama.

The Republican Party was warned. They ignored the warnings about Romney and now they will suffer a loss in November. Too bad for them. GOPe is the enemy. Pushing Romney down the throats is repulsive. I am so glad that most FREEPERS are sticking with their principles and not voting for Romney in the General. Hopefully we all pick a really good write-in. That is the next thing that needs to be discussed.

Until the past few months, I hadn’t realized that Ms. Babs Bush was such a wacko job. A few days ago, Bush 41 was interviewed, but she, sitting on his left side, did most of the yammering for him. She even sounded bitter because they (she) weren’t getting their way because Romney was still not yet way ahead.

What is that name for a female dog? (No offence to dogs.)

Sweet and naive. I resemble that, I mean resent that....

Just joking.

The question in post #16 from me (which you answered in post # 20) was a rhetorical question - and therefore self evident.

Obama will not let Bush go. he will continue to bring him up over and over again - that Bush wrecked the economy and he is slowly fixing it.

To which Romney responds that Obama made things worse - and it all goes round and round...

The GOP must face this head-on, once and for all, in 2012 and show that Bush did not wreck the economy. And Obama must prove that Bush did. Romney must then decide if he embraces Bush’s 2000-2008 policies or rejects them.

“Serious voters never give a flip about endorsements...”

And what percent of total voters would you estimate are “serious voters?”

Why should GWB step into the political limelight after being unfairly excoriated for the past 11 years of his life?

Regardless, it looks like it's still going to be "Bush's fault".......

GWB isn’t unusually silent.

He has chosen to stay out of politics.

The rest of the family is always poking their noses in.

In terms of Romney needing his endorsement...have you forgotten his unpopularity, whether deserved or not?

How would it help Romney or anyone else to receive his endorsement?

Why would Dubya get involved with politics? There’s other things in life, such as baseball. Dubya is probably keeping himself with that. He should purchase a minor league team (I know he used to own Texas Rangers)

Romney is being smart keeping Dubya at arm’s length. Bush is still quite hated by many, and an endorsement would lose votes for Romney. But I bet you knew that already...

;^)
