I can't figure it out. I was just looking at my previous articles and looking at the number of comments for each. There seems to be no rhyme or reason. The things I thought were amazing garnered pathetic comments quantities. The things I considered to be frivolous garnered popularity.
Click my name and look at my articles and subsequent comment numbers and tell me I'm wrong. If I'm wrong make me understand. Please.
Ketchup certainly does not belong on hot dogs...chili, mustard and onions do...I though everyone knew that...Ketchup belongs on hamburgers along with dill pickle, onion and chili.....hope that settled it for your post...missed it the first time......GG :O)
You need to comment on the totally uselessness of Apple computers; and also comment on the types of people who would use them.

Comments and thread participation depend a lot on the day of the week and the time of day. There has also been an evolutionary process due to internet speed induced ADD that seems (to me) to have resulted in a lot more one liners and sarcasm than we used to see here.

Well, back in the day I enjoyed the CREVO debates, civil or naught, and learned a lot on those threads, esp from many who have sought greener pastures or fairer winds and following seas. Or sum-such.
I think of myself as “Thread Killer”. I’ll walk in late, post a response that I feel is semi-amusing, and then the thread dies. No responses, no more posts.

I’ve noticed the average comments per thread on FR have decreased significantly over the last 12 years...and that the average number of words per comment has also decreased.
I like your theory as to why that is. That could be another thread all by itself. I wonder if connection speed really has affected attention span!

How many people posted to tell you miss-spelled a word? Any error in the title will bring a group that needs to point this out. This will keep it on top and more people will see it. This is true even if it is a error in the source title. An inflammatory claim also helps.
