I know a cat named S#it Head
My dogs are Bowser (Bowsie) and Nina (Neener)
Both were already named when I got them but Neener was named Queenie and that had to stop immediately.
:)
That was our last cat’s name!
Now we have “Stupid” and “Dumbo”. And they absolutely live up to their names.
LOL
We almost named our cat ‘Cracker’. The kids were a bit young to explain it to them, so we didn’t.
-- T. S. Eliot
The Naming of Cats is a difficult matter,
It isn't just one of your holiday games;
You may think at first I'm as mad as a hatter
When I tell you, a cat must have THREE DIFFERENT NAMES.
First of all, there's the name that the family use daily,
Such as Peter, Augustus, Alonzo or James,
Such as Victor or Jonathan, George or Bill Bailey--
All of them sensible everyday names.
There are fancier names if you think they sound sweeter,
Some for the gentlemen, some for the dames:
Such as Plato, Admetus, Electra, Demeter--
But all of them sensible everyday names.
But I tell you, a cat needs a name that's particular,
A name that's peculiar, and more dignified,
Else how can he keep up his tail perpendicular,
Or spread out his whiskers, or cherish his pride?
Of names of this kind, I can give you a quorum,
Such as Munkustrap, Quaxo, or Coricopat,
Such as Bombalurina, or else Jellylorum-
Names that never belong to more than one cat.
But above and beyond there's still one name left over,
And that is the name that you never will guess;
The name that no human research can discover--
But THE CAT HIMSELF KNOWS, and will never confess.
When you notice a cat in profound meditation,
The reason, I tell you, is always the same:
His mind is engaged in a rapt contemplation
Of the thought, of the thought, of the thought of his name:
His ineffable effable
Effanineffable
Deep and inscrutable singular Name.
I named our new cat Renfield [for obvious reasons] but now call him Stupid Cat...for what have since become even more obvious reasons.
;D
So do I. :)
Cute cats.
We picked up the dog at the Dog Pound (we believe in rescuing animals rather than buying from pet stores and the like) a little mixed breed Half Yellow Lab/Half Shepherd (what type of Shepherd we aren't sure)...
My mom drove and I held the puppy for his trip home in the car and he got a bit overexcited and promptly threw up on me. I told my wife and daughter and they laughed and said well it may have been a joke but it was karma so the name stuck! So "Hurley" is our resident clown and all around ball of excitement and a loving companion and we would be lost without him!
BTW "Hurley" has perfected the art of Building a "Pillow Fortress"...!
I always wanted to get a dog and name him Pavloff
Thanks for you snake lovers out there. I have had it with this racist attitude that only dogs and cats are “pets” and deserve name recognition.
While I have had snakes in the past, I currently am owned by a Sun Conure named Baby Ruth. Her nest mate was Skittles.
I have had dogs, cats, fish, reptiles, birds my entire life.
Lets here it for all the other companions out there, including all those countless of individuals that are depending on us for their daily food, ipods, gambling cruzes, booze, rent, etc. etc.
I have a few “pet” names for them also, but I think they will not get past the moderators!!
We have a cat. His name is Fred. We call him “Chupacabra.” Guess why....
He sucks?
Awwww!
I always wanted to name a cat either Wampus (Cat E. Wampus) or Kaboodle (Kitten Kaboodle).
