If push comes to shove, will Rush, other wealthy conservative, buy Obama approved health insurance?

Posted on 11/11/2012 7:41:36 PM PST by grumpygresh

Almost four years ago Rush had chest pains during a vacation in Hawaii. He received the best possible care, and all turned out well. He revealed that he does not have health insurance and pays out of pocket, negotiating the best rate. Will Rush take this opportunity to be the civil rights leader of the 21st century and engage in civil disobedience? Will he tell Pharaoh Obama to let his people go!

I recall when he built the Palm Beach mansion he said he was self-insured. It wouldn’t surprise me to hear that extends to his medical insurance as well.

They can take my house, my bank account, my possessions, even my Katherine Hepburn movie collection! But, they come after my dogs, and I will shoot them!

You’ll never pay the fine eh?

The IRS will empty your bank account, put a lien on your wages or other means to TAKE the ‘fine’ - same as they do delinquent tax payers.

Why do you people think they put the IRS in charge of ENFORCEMENT of the mandate?

It’s the Mark of this beast folks. No one gets health care unless they think and act in accord with the regime.

You are jumping the gun, it was a legitimate question and I don’t see any undertones of trolling.

We visited my VERY wealthy Florida Uncle back in 1977 on vacation the year before I went into the service. He owned a chain of banks and was buddy-buddy with Dick Nixon and Bebe Rebozo. My younger cousin literally had enough assorted bills and change on his dresser and bathroom sink area to buy a new car.

Who??

The radio talk show host who said Romney will win in a landslide? And who said that McCain would win?

The fine per individual is only about $600 with no penalty if he avoids it successfully so I don’t see what you are getting at.

He can not buy the insurance at NO risk.

What are you talking about, Rush will pay cash. If you listen to him you would know!

Of course he will pay cash for his healthcare. But will he comply by paying the fine or buying Obama approved insurance? If he does not comply, he will need to defend himself in court. He could act as a test case and others could follow. he would claim a religious/philosophical exemption like the Amish & Islam have under the aw. Maybe this would be better for Mark Levin.

It’s documented. I’ve seen the police reports, and am not dazzled by idolatry or cognitive dissonance.

/look it up

Of course he’s self-insured. What insurance carrier would accept him, with all of his pre-existing medical conditions?: drug addition, intractable pain, cervical spine damage, cardiac problems, smoking, goodness knows what else. And even if they did, why should he pay? Why not just write a check for any procedure, if you have the money? That’s what everybody used to do. It’s only been in the last half-century or so, when medicine has been more complex and thus terribly expensive, that we’ve started to use insurance. But even if, God forbid, Rush needed a heart transplant, he could pay cash for it.

off subject, but he did not predict McCain would win. He always hated the McCain candidacy, with the exception of the Palin pick and a few days after that. So unless you’re talking about a little temporary exuberance over Palin, he did not say that...

They would love it if Rush didn’t pay the fine - they would love to throw him in jail and lose the key. Obama would make an example of Rush in a New York minute.

Our care would be remarkably less expensive today if more people did what we did just a couple of decades ago, not 50 years ago. That is, major medical. You pay cash for all the small stuff, even the medium stuff, and insurance is cheap beause it only covers the catastrophe. You know, the heart “big one” or the cancer, etc.

Meanwhile, the “hit by a bus” example has always been breath takingly ignorant - if that happens, the bus’s auto insurance pays the medical.

On the national level very many people, should it ever come to that will simply NOT file both a.)1040 return or b.)the reporting form indicating insurance coverage, or will file but not the reporting form

A national boycott of an unconstitutional law will be organized, and is being organized, and one for which there is not enough police to prevent.

And, by the way an all cash/barter system basis, so they cannot be put out of business. There is no provision besides the fine, and the penalty for not paying the fine is not a “tax” violation.

This will all be made easier in each of the states which have decided not to take part in any insurance exchange, and therefore those citizens have no provision for participation.

If this went far enough, it could dramatically reduce medical costs for routine preventive care. The legal requirement for providing catastrophic or emergent care would still remain by law, as it is now.

The leadership will come from individuals exercising their rights in a very large test case. Sort of like people speeding on a federal highway— “come and get me”.
