Lefty Sirota: “We Are Incinerating the Planet…Because Too Many of Us Like to Eat Cheeseburgers”

How do you top making national news for bigotry? Trying getting people to “Give Up (Eating) Hamburgers to Stop Climate Change.”

For loony lefty syndicated columnist David Sirota, it’s all just another day at the office. Sirota made national news for his bizarre and bigoted hope that the Boston bomber would turn out to be “a white American.”

Fresh off that fiasco, Sirota has turned his sights to changing the climate by changing America’s diet. According to Sirota’s May 2 column, “the fastest way to reduce climate change” simply “requires us all to eat fewer animal products.” In case that wasn’t sufficiently clear, he added that “we are incinerating the planet and dooming future generations simply because too many of us like to eat cheeseburgers.” …

Let's see.

Raising vegetables for human consumption requires intensive soil tillage and (without the availability of manure) chemical fertilizer. My livestock, on the other hand, do perfectly fine on land that hasn't been tilled or fertilized for 20 years, and provide enough free fertilizer to raise an adequate cash crop of corn (and, yes, a garden full of vegetables).

(Which gives them Humblegunner cred also).

I'd enjoy to see you explain that comment, bud.

Just referring to the fact that you put a lot of stake into one being a “paid professional” journalist or pundit, and this guy is a “paid pro” meaning he has HG cred.

Ironically, he is only “paid” because he is propped up by a Soros think tank, in effect, paying him to blog from his mama’s basement....and so, he’s far less talented and less intelligent and less correct than many “bloggers” that you give no cred.....because there is no equivalent to Soros on the right.

Assumption, and wrong. Disagreement with one side does NOT equal agreement with the other.

I kind of figured you were bright enough to see that.

My bad.

Perhaps you are not bright enough to explain your position then. Because that’s exactly the impression everyone around here has of your crusade. And pls note, in this case, you were one to get snippy.....not me.....

How amazing that you are able to speak for "everyone around here".

you were one to get snippy

Er.. no, bud. The start of my involvement with this thread was when you referenced me without pinging me.

I was just making a little fly by comment. You consider that an affront, but I don’t, and didn’t mean it as one, and refuse to accept your premise that it is one. Heck, you should consider it a compliment!

And I’m not speaking for everyone around here and never said that I was - but I’m pretty sure I have made a correct observation. It is okay for me to make an observation isn’t it?

I took another look and your right. I thought that turned up piece of bacon was ketchup. Sorry. And I agree it is sad if it doesn’t have mustard.
