Anonymous Cincinnati IRS official: “Everything comes from the top.”
The Washington Examiner ^ | 5/19/2013 | Sean Higgins

Posted on 05/19/2013 2:07:47 PM PDT by Beave Meister

A story in the Washington Post yesterday about the Internal Revenue Service’s Cincinnati office, which does most of the agency’s nonprofit auditing, clearly contradicted earlier reports that the agency’s targeting of Tea Party groups was the result of rogue agents.

The Post story anonymously quoted a staffer in Cincinnati as saying they only operate on directives from headquarters:

As could be expected, the folks in the determinations unit on Main Street have had trouble concentrating this week. Number crunchers, whose work is nonpolitical, don’t necessarily enjoy the spotlight, especially when the media and the public assume they’re engaged in partisan villainy.

“We’re not political,’’ said one determinations staffer in khakis as he left work late Tuesday afternoon. “We people on the local level are doing what we are supposed to do. . . . That’s why there are so many people here who are flustered. Everything comes from the top. We don’t have any authority to make those decisions without someone signing off on them. There has to be a directive.”

The left never consider what they do political. Auditing and targeting “criminal” groups who disagree with the president is just part of their job

"If there’s a directive, there’s something written somewhere, hopefully electronically and on paper."

The IG report didn't rely on emails, only employee statements. So there should be a trail to follow, but, Witholder didn't document his recusal in the AP case and conveniently didn't remember the date he recused himself. So, this group of corrupt thugs are good at avoiding official channels of communication (phone calls, using personal email accounts, etc.)

We know that zero’s administration is corrupt and dictatorial, but the IRS scandal is over the top. Not only were conservatives and Tea Party members under intense IRS scrutiny, but Christians were also under attack.

In some reports that I have read, IRS agents interrogated Christian leaders and evangelicals asking, among other disturbing things, what the “content” of their prayers were. This goes beyond the pale.

Were we really passionate about liberty and freedom, we would not only demand that everyone responsible for this outrage be tried and jailed, but that the IRS be dismantled and the president impeached. But, since we don’t really care, we’ll just get more popcorn and ignore the fact that zero has turned our country into a corrupt dictatorship in which our rights and freedoms guaranteed by the Constitution are being routinely dismantled and shredded.

They knew this was coming 6 months ago. It took them that long to purge every possible smoking gun and, only then, did they allow the Inspector General's report to surface. The only hope is that someone with a conscience will have secreted a copy of a memo or something like that.

Michelle Bachman in an interview this week said that the lower level grunt employee do only what directed to do and have a supervisor checking all their work

She also referred to directives coming down from the top

Someone has signed that directive and if following government procedure have held at least one training session to make sure it is implemented consistently throughout the system
There WILL be a trail
No low level will go to jail to cover up for supervisor

The private sector will outdo the public sector. The trial lawyers have a huge class action case here and will uncover far more than Issa. Although I applaud Issa

“Something like this would be done verbally. There will be no paper trail.”

Never put something in writing when you can say it on the phone.

Never say something on the phone when you can say it in person.

Never speak when you can nod.

Never nod when you can wink.

Never communicate at all when you can hire someone who will know what to do without instructions.

I started my career as a lowly account clerk After awhile I transferred to our county’s welfare dept. my job there was checking the eligibility workers work before the cases were processed. The cases went from the worker to their supervisor to me to someone else in the same unit to be processed. That was 3 chances for stuff to be caught. You can’t tell me that any government agency is any different on the checks and rechecks. That is the way govt systems work.

Damn right it comes from the top. Low level employees are not going to do this on their own. I know from working for the goverment for 12 years that these people were lying through their teeth. The fact that the supervisor received over 109K in bonuses shows to me she was being paid off by the higher ups. The other thing that strikes me funny about all these peole, Holder, H. Clinton and other cabinette level members saying the didn’t know or no one told them. W”hat the hell do the cabinette members talk about at their briefings anyway, it sire isn’t running the government. Fire the whole lot of them. Also, Hillery has as much business being Commander in Chief as my frigging Chihuahua.

That is how Michelle Bachman and our friend Linda explained it. Rule/procedures come down from the top. One person does job another checks them supervisor(often an attorney) resolves any issues. But ALL are compliant with the orders that came down. New regs rules were a nightmare that triggered much training and retraining under supervisor who had been trained by higher up!

The libs on MSNBC are actually arguing that the IRS did nothing wrong at all, nothing, and that of course Bush (appointee) was in charge of the IRS at the time, not Obama.

To them this is government at its best(you wont hear Gregory put Dems on the spot for saying that on MSNBC ) .... welcome OBama-care.
