"We should all take a break from politics to argue about food preferences once in a while. ........ Tonights culinary question involves favorite hot dog toppings. Im pretty big tent when it comes to this....."

That's it, right there. But it's gotta be on a New England hot dog bun:
Just add toppings. And beer.
Sez you.
I spent some time in Detroit and grew to like hot dogs topped with chili, chopped onions, and ketchup.
I always tell the vendor to put the “topping” on the bottom (on the bread), so that the mustard, relish or whatever stays in my mouth rather than going on my shirt.
But I always had a problem, how to dress the franks: 1 with Nathans mustard and kraut, the other with ketchup and sweet relish (apologies to Harry Calahan... I occasionally eat hot dogs with ketchup.)
Nathan's fries were awesome!

It is; if you're feeling adventurous use about ¼c of Minnesota wild (black) rice to every 1½c of white rice & add in ¼ of a head of lettuce* for every ¾c of rice.
* Lettuce acts as a "bitter herb", like celery, but much more mild.
Has Mayor Bloomberg told us that we shouldn’t eat hot dogs yet? Or is he still on his soda crusade????
hotdogs are just an excuse to eat a sandwich with ketchup relish mustard onions chili and cheese. the dog is optional but my body rejects any after three.

Nearly fifty posts, and not one mention of the ‘Boomstick’ served at the Ballpark in Arlington, Texas...
Hate to say it but the best hot dogs I ever ate was about 40 years ago in Denmark. I still dream about them. They had a long skinny frank that was garlicy on a little short cardboard tasting bun. The topping was a mustardy horseradish and fried onions. Oh my goodness! Yummy! I’ve never been able to replicate them so I’m guessing the secret was in the frank.
You’re right, ketchup doesn’t belong on hot dogs any more than beans belong in chili. We had an exchange student who hated mustard and wanted ketchup on his first dog. Nope, sorry, kiddo. I made his dog with mustard. Ah, he understood!
kimchi...whats that
Chili and a little mustard is all you need.
Oscar Mayer Angus Hot Dog, yellow mustard, chopped onion, sweet relish.
Right now I have some frozen corn dogs and I pop it in the micro for 1 minute, slather with yellow mustard and it’s good.
fermented (old?) cabbage
kind of like saurkraut ....
just like a model-T is kind of like a Lambo.
I hear that some kimchi varieties smell a bit like vomit. I haven’t tried it though, from what I have read I might like to try “white” Kimchi
