With OJ, state had mountain of evidence. Zealots called him innocent. With Zimmerman, state had nothing. Zealots saw mountain of guilt.

I’m pretty sure OJ killed Nicole Simpson and Ron Goldman; but I never thought the state did a good job of proving that.
To me, and maybe to the jury (I say maybe, perhaps they would have acquitted Simpson no matter what), the stumbling block was always the absence of blood.
They had drops of blood and I don’t even know if they even had drops of Goldman’s blood anywhere near Simpson. Here was a man who had allegedly slit two person’s throats, he should have been awash in blood.
So that was always my reasonable doubt issue.
I had a job, so I didn’t watch the trial on TV or anything like that, but that was my impression at the time.
BTW, one guy I worked with was the only guy who said “they’re acquitting, for sure”, after the verdict came back we asked him how come he was so sure of that and he said he heard the jury had asked for champagne to be delivered to them in the hotel. He said, rightly, you don’t celebrate if you’ve just convicted someone of murder.
Nevertheless, the reaction of black people to that verdict kind of amazed me.

OJ Simpson decapitated his ex wife and an innocent man returning sunglasses..he’s acquitted, blacks celebrate in the street like they won the lotto..white people didnt riot, we were upset, heck I cried, but no rioting, no looting..I heard blacks say that Nicole “Deserved it” because she married a black man..imagine if someone had said that Trayvon “Deserved it” because he was black..the media only brings out the phony outrage when it helps their agenda

After that verdict, one black woman told me she knew he did it, but was happy he was found not guilty...because of slavery.
How depraved (or intellectually challenged) does one have to be to sanction the murder of two innocent people to get back at whitey?

We should be kind, because if it were not for Rachel, the term “Creep-ass Cracka” would not have recently entered the national lexicon. I believe, as a culture, we are richer for it.

The state proved it well beyond a reasonable doubt.
O.J. was aquited because the cop that found the incontrovertible evidence uttered the "n" word several years previous.
I just had that experience on Facebook last night. A friend of my daughter’s was carrying on about the miscarriage of justice in this case. I tried to give her the facts of why he was acquitted, and she became hostile, making personal attacks and insults. My daughter got angry with me because I didn’t back down. I never did get personal, but she kept calling Trayvon a “child”, and when I kept pointing to the facts of why a 17 year old is not a “child”, she didn’t like it. I was definitely getting the better of her, factually speaking, and that’s why it became personal to her.
I can’t imagine OJ would have been that honorable.
Just think, these people vote.
