I am curious. Is there any good resources about how to become a nomad in America ? Nearing retirement, and thinking that I could RV it with no permanent home address.
How does one register a vehicle, or renew a drivers license, and so on, without a mailing address ?
If I don't officially "Live" in a particular state, can I go buy a truck in New Hampshire and pay no sales tax ?
I'm thinking about this as a way to distance myself from the feds.

Some variations of that can lead to extreme isolation and drive one a bit crazy.
True story.
Not that there is anything wrong with that.
Full-time RVers know how to do it. My Dad did it for a couple of years He paid a mail forwarding company (I think it was in Texas) to be his permanent address. He could call them any time and have them hold or forward his mail to whatever RV park he was staying in.
Ask around RV folks for resources.
... and the Feds are just a phone call away to help you when you need them. ;o)
Didn’t end well for Albert Brooks.

Not as free as one might believe.
The restrictions, ordinances, laws make it difficult.
Fees at parks are high. Best to join organizations for best rates. Going to town in your RV can be a hassle depending on size of your unit. Often parks are not near towns that you might want to visit and explore.
While you meet some very interesting people you must also be wary. Some are not nomads by choice but to evade problems, legal or otherwise.
Did it for a year and tired of it. In the end I just never felt safe or secure and didn’t find the freedom of movement I had expected.
As far as a vehicle registration is concerned, I think you may need a physical address as opposed just a PO Box.
I think you can still have a bank account without a physical address but not a Brokerage account.
I’ve given this some thought and IMO, you may need to buy a vacant lot in the middle of nowhere.
About the only SURE way to ditch the surveillance state is to head for Belize, the middle of the Amazon jungle or leave the planet.
And think about this: If you bail, that’s one less patriot to fight the bastards. If enough folks do that, IT WILL ONLY GET MUCH, MUCH WORSE!
NOWHERE TO HIDE:

Why not just buy a lot somewhere in some dying small town that would allow you to park your motor home on it, to use as your base for an address and banking?
You’re on the grid and it’s really hard getting off of it. To start with register your RV as owned by a off-shore corporation.
Unless you’ve got a whole bunch of money to hide, it’s too much bother IMHO.

BTW, There is NO LEGAL requirement to pick up your mail.
Certified or other.
True, but for certain legal proceedings (including IRS and court notices), if certified mail is sent to your "last known address," you are legally deemed to have received and read it whether you actually got it or not.
Camping World has a boatload of information. Lots of people do it. Although there are some minimums if you want to register a vehicle, have a drivers license and maintain a bank account.
It’s a waste of time and energy. I just say, “come and get me whenever you want. You’ve got my address ...” ... LOL ...
Can you pass for a Mexican? Get a drivers license in Mexico and US license plates and say you are an illegal alien. They might put you on a welfare role though.
Do not get a license plate form a state that has emission or safety inspections as it would be hard to keep them up to date. You can park on Federal land for a month without paying fees in many places. Some places charge some to haul trash and clean the john.
If you wish to be like me, the only mail I now receive is just bulk mail crap..........
As for auto registration, simply give your children's address and have the annual registration renewal mailed to their house and you can pay for it via the internet.......Of course the tabs will be sent to them but they can forward it on to you.
Yes, the courts and judges will rule in favor of the plaintiff if the defendant has been deemed as properly served, even if the defendant is dead.
However, there are a boat load of homeless people with no “Last known” or “permanent address” that are completely off the radar.
IMO, it comes down to this, Can you have a million dollars in the bank or in cash and claim or actually be homeless ?
No Address ?
Not belonging to any State ?
