WESTWOOD (CBS) A truck carrying 7,000 pounds of lobster slammed into an MBTA rail bridge in Westwood early Tuesday morning, sparking a fire and huge problems for commuters. The driver of the 13-foot tall Ryder rental truck tried to clear the 10-foot, 6-inch East Street overpass around 4:50 a.m. and failed. The truck burst into flames after the crash. Surveillance video captured the impact. As a result of impact, a small fire started in the air-conditioner compressor that is positioned near the roof of the truck, Westwood police spokesman Paul Toland said in a statement. The fire was quickly extinguished and no injuries were reported as a result of the crash, said Toland.
That’s as good as the 11 feet 8 inch bridge!

I bet the rental agreement
does not include a stupidity rider (Ryder?)
will someone insert a Prof Zoidberg pic?
Fortunately, a tanker full of melted butter happened by and all was well.
OMG! I know that bridge so well! My brother lives right near there, and my other brother lived at the other end of the street. That road connects to I95 and is heavily trafficked, especially at Rush Hour. The 128 Industrial loop also connects to that street. This is Hugh and Series, and not to mention, quite TASTY!
Roasted lobster, mmm mmm mmm!
Bridge insanity ping.
I see truck drivers do real “Breel Yunt” things at my job.
Changing the bridge won’t change anything, drivers will still find a way to be absolutely earth shatteringly STUPID.
Truck driver carrying butter stopped to help.
That’s a lotta boiled lobstah...pass da buttah
All you can eat lobster buffet
Michelle “The Mooch” obama went into a panic mode when she heard that, the truck was heading down the Washington to deliver her next days lunch.
A work colleague just left yesterday for a vacation with family in Maine, declaring it will be a smashing success as long as he gets one lobster roll per day. Looks like there might be a kink in the supply chain...
That there can make a crustacean crabby...
Happens ALL...THE...TIME at that bridge. I’m a barber at a shop about a block from that location and it’s a frequent occurance. Recently an MBTA bus driver decided to take his bus off route for a shortcut and, well, the results were predicatble. As many times as that bridge has been whacked you’d think the structural integrity would have been compromised by now. Every time I pass under it when a commuter train is going over I’m a little uneasy
does that include the lobsters?
This guy is wikkid retahded...
Monday my daughter who works at supermarket deli called to tell me they just put lobsters on sale at 3.99 a pound. Told her to steam me 2. Today I'm having a lobster sandwich from the leftovers.
