US health officials have warned of the dangers posed by the latest deadly dare sweeping the internet: The Fire Challenge.
Those taking part in the challenge douse themselves in flammable liquids and set fire to themselves, then extinguish the flames as quickly as they can, uploading the videos onto sites including YouTube and Facebook.
Santa Clara county health officials in California have warned of the dangers posed by the game, and say that several taking part in it have suffered severe burns as a result.
A number of kids have suffered second- and third-degree burns across the country, said Joy Alexiou, Santa Clara Valley Medical Center spokeswoman. There are long-term consequences. Weeks if not months of rehab, lifelong scarring and disfigurement and movement loss, because the tissue will be tight when it heals.

“How long before the game becomes:
Throw flammable liquid and a burning match on a random white person and upload the video.”
The Low IQ population in South Florida already had that occur some years ago.
“White Boy Scream A Lot”.
Funny!
Natural Selection.
They were warned. But, after all, they are stupid.
I’m amazed at how stupid people are. Not that they are so stupid to do these crazy things, but that they are so stupid they do these things wrong.
I love how a dozen people do something stupid and suddenly the media insists it’s a “craze sweeping the nation”. It’s just dumb people doing dumb things, it happens; and in a country this big there’s no shortage of dumb people.
Agreed. Public schools are bad in many ways, but parenting still rules. For one thing every state allows home schooling or to put the child in a charter or private school.
The lion’s share of the blame goes to the absentee father, from what I’ve seen personally. And I don’t buy this ‘we weren’t happy together so I left’, or similar rationalizations. Once you have kids, your own ‘happiness’ is of secondary importance.
The female shoulders some of the blame to be sure, but if the males would ‘man up’ we would not have many of the problems we do today - both in and out of the cities.
Nihilists.
I suspect that many, if not all, of these kids were brought up in two-income families, where the kids were farmed out to day-care, then to the public schools, after school sports programs, etc. No real family time, no childhood, no proper attention by the rearing family to assimilate their values and ideology into the kids. They are lost in a world that values ‘tech’ over relationships. The kids know that no one is really ‘there’ for them. This is the latest “look at me!” device. Tragic! Suicide will be high among the survivors of this group.
As long as they don’t merely injure themselves and become a longer term blight on society.... let ‘er rip tater chip.
I see it as a useful natural selection process to cull the herd of unsuitable stock.
I can’t imagine anyone who is online being that stupid.
This is simply natural selection at work cleaning out the gene pool...this behavior should be encouraged.
What, we need a campaign - paid for by taxpayers, of course! - to educate people on the dangers of setting themselves on fire ? Methinks not. Let them burn. But the new rule to the game is they have to tie themselves up first.
It’s just nature’s way of thinning the heard. And I’d bet everyone of them will vote for a democrat in the future. Is there a place where we can donate to buy flammable liquids?
Darwin is freakin hilarious! !!
I guess the disease of Pyromaniac’s has evolved...
If you want to cull out 6.5 billion of the unwashed masses, it’s a start ... Science advisor to the president John Holdren.
If their stupid enough to do this I say let them have an arena someplace and charge admission to watch. Call it thinning of the stupid.
Liberals teens sets fire to themselves and they get burned? Jeez, its time for a ban on fire. We must stop it!!! /s
