These are no doubt democratic voters. This is why we are in trouble, and I'm sure they studied math in a Public School.

To average 30 mph, you would have to cover the 2-mile course in 4 minutes. At 15 mph, you would take the entire 4 minutes to travel the first mile; therefore you would have to cover the second (downhill) mile instantaneously.

Teleportation, anyone?

Here's one for you:

Which is heavier, a pound of gold or a pound of feathers? Explain your answer.

The last mile is straight down off a cliff, way below the elevation at which you started?

Quickly, what is the square of 997?
Answer using algebra:
997 x 997 = (1000 - 3) x (1000 - 3) = 1000000 - 2 x 3 x 1000 + 9 = 994009

how about the blond, who was locked in a convertible (the roof was down) for 20 minutes.
***********************************
In the ‘90s, we had just finished playing golf at our CC and were putting things into the car. A very pretty blond wife of one of our members pulled into a parking space nearby. She was driving a Miata with the top down. She exited the car and had walked about 30 feet away, when she suddenly turned and hurried back to the car. She leaned over the door and pushed the button to lock the car. ....Really happened!

Is that road miles, or ‘crow flies’ miles?

Depends on what your ground speed is. (air speed is 80 mph)

Statute miles, or country miles?

At 80 mph, it would take 69 minutes to travel 80 nautical miles.

Oh; it’s not a trick question? Then 1 hour; even a ghetto rat should have known that.

That has to be one of the most pathetic performances of mental midgetry I’ve ever seen.

how fast would you have to go on the downhill side to average 30mph

You cannot average 30 mph under the conditions posed by the problem.

Try this one.

How many feet of rope is needed to circle the circumference of a globe the same size as earth?

How many additional feet of rope is required to raise the rope one foot above the globe along its entire circumference?

what is the square of 997?

Did you mean what is 997 squared?

From the concept, can you guess that "the square of 997" and "997 squared" are identical? In this, 997 would only be one side of a square, the root. Webster's New International Dictionary Unabridged, for "square" (noun) definition 4 is "the product of a number or quantity multiplied by itself" -- FYI.

With regards --

My differential calculus says that ΔC = 2πΔr = πΔD; but you want the diameter increased by two feet (that is, the radius increased by 1 foot), so that would require 6 feet 3 3/8 inches, plus a smidgin. Hmm?
