Police helicopters circling my house

I live in Mesquite, TX. At this moment (10:15 pm) there are two police helicopters circling my neighborhood. One of them is blaring out a message about a missing 11year old girl.

None that I can see. To paraphrase, “Mesquite Police are searching for a missing 11year old black female.” A description of the clothing then follows. Then they say, “Anyone with information on her whereabouts please contact the Mesquite Police Dept.” All the neighbors are out checking out the commotion.

I never experienced such a thing until I moved to CA and I've seen it twice now, once for something I couldn't quite figure out and the other time they were looking for someone suffering from Alzheimer's who had “escaped” or whatever.
It's a very disconcerting event that needs to be stopped, IMO.
I don't believe their “excuse” and I'm of the opinion it was an exercise in “control”.

Different incident. Your link mentions a two year old, not an 11 year old.
Mesquite has seriously gone downhill in the last 10 years or so.
