What are pro&con of using PaleMoon?
If you run the 32-bit version of Palemoon, it will accept most of the Firefox extensions/add-on, because FF is 32-bit. The 64-bit version of Palemoon has trouble with many of the FF add-ons.
I have been using Palemoon on my laptop. I actually prefer it. I am about ready to install it on my desktop computer, too.
Web browser bookmark.
So do you think that some of the commenters above who had problems with FF add-ons were running Pale Moon 64bit, when they should have been using Pale Moon 32-bit? Would PM 32-bit be less buggy?
I doubt the 64-bit version will run on a 32-bit computer although I bet a 32-bit browser will run on a 64-bit computer
I run various older versions of Pale Moon (from v19 to v24.4) on older hardware to save memory.
Sisko's log continues...
- "At oh-eight-hundred hours, station time... the Romulan Empire formally declared war against the Dominion. They've already struck fifteen bases along the Cardassian border. So, this is a huge victory for the good guys! This may even be the turning point of the entire war! There's even a "Welcome to the Fight" party tonight in the wardroom!... So... I lied. I cheated. I bribed men to cover up the crimes of other men. I am an accessory to murder. But most damning of all... I think I can live with it... And if I had to do it all over again... I would. Garak was right about one thing a guilty conscience is a small price to pay for the safety of the Alpha Quadrant. So I will learn to live with it...Because I can live with it...I can live with it.
Isn’t there some kind of special full moon tonight?
And a meteor shower?
Con: not Mac compatible.
I have been running Palemoon 32-bit on my laptop for about a month and have not had any crashes or problems with it.

Browsers crash for many reasons. One culprit is bad coding, usually associated with advertisements, on websites.
It was not very stable for what I do but then my business depends on my browser running cleanly so I am perhaps a bit more demanding then most.
After I ran a disk clean up and CC cleaner it began to behave oddly.
I dumped it. IE actually ran better then it did but remember this was just for what I wanted it to do. Your results may vary.
I’ve been using PaleMoon for about a year and a half, two years now. Version: 24.7.1 (x64).
It’s basically the firefox base code, with all the extra bloatware firefox has started adding in removed. It’s cleaner, faster, and I like it better. An older version of it crashed occasionally (I usually have 15-20 tabs open when I start, hit 40+ while browsing), but I haven’t had a browser-closing event is a long time.
The only issue I kinda have with it is the new tab is just blank, it doesn’t have the page of links to your most popular tabs. Was kinda used to that with FireFox. As one poster mentioned, new tabs open at the end of the tab list, but you can set that. I prefer them at the end.
Add-Ons, I currently have, all work fine:
- AdBlock Plus
- AdBlock Plus Pop-Up
- DoD Configs (but CaC reader still doesn’t like PaleMoon, barely likes FireFox. Hates my IE)
- HTTPS Everywhere
- IE Tab 2 (tells sites you’re IE, supposed to help with CaC issues for DoD, but didn’t)
- All the regular Java/Shockwave/Flash/Silverlight work fine. Occasional shockwave crashes, but same as I had with Firefix, and it’s just a video or something inside a webpage.
All in all, I would definitely recommend PaleMoon over FireFox. has the same feel as the slightly older FireFox versions (I don’t like how they started changing stuff..) and is pretty fast/reliable for me.
I have downloaded a light weight browser called Quipzilla. I also have used Opera before. Never used Pale Moon. Mostly was on Chrome to use google phone. But I also have used FF. I get why people don’t want to use it. That’s why I downloaded Quipzilla and Opera as back ups.
It’s a FAAAAAAAAKEEEE

Same here. I have found NO negatives after about six months.
That episode made me cry....
If your move was to show lack of support for the Mozilla gaystapo, be aware that Pale Moon basically identifies itself as Firefox (at least many sites will take it to be Firefox). This means that Firefox stats may not take the hit you would like.
Under about:config (entered in address/url bar) you can set the parameter general.useragent.compatMode.firefox to false. This will identify itself as Pale Moon only. The problem with this is many websites do not recognize Pale Moon and will assume it is either a mobile browser (and present the mobile version of the page) or take it to be an older browser and deny you features, issue a warning, or just not work.
Been wanting to parody that brew for a long while...
