“I know there were a lot of times when he wanted to give up. He didnt because it wasnt his time yet.”
THAT is dying with dignity.
I think killing yourself is a sin, but making others help is too
if she had flown to Syria and died fighting ISIS, I could call that dignified
We have Free Will. We are free. We can check out any time we want.
But there are consequences to checking out early. That's the entire rub with Free Will. The consequences.
But I don't understand the need to become some kind of cheerleader.
This is a decision which should involve her and her family, not doctors, politicians, or even the law, for that matter.
Soylent Green: Now with more Brittany
..........
too soon?
That’s not a religious principle, with all due respect. Our lives are not our own.
This goes on every day, in most every city in this country.
It has been for generations.
You are fighting a fight that was lost decades ago.
Used to care for a lot of hospice patients.

She and her family will never know if she could have made more of a difference in their lives or in this world. That said, I hope they’re all at peace.
If I ever felt the need, no one would know until afterwards.
If someone feels the need to die, why talk about it in the first place.
The culture of death is an evil mindset that preys especially on those who believe there is no other alternative to relief from pain and suffering. Also, that there is no consequences in choosing to commit suicide, and that life ends when the flesh dies.
My prayers and condolences go out to the entire Maynard family. May they come to know that there is a hope and life greater than this on earth through Jesus Christ.
Let’s all kick back and reconsider her decision some 1,000,000,000,000,000,000 years in the future. That would be both respectful and wise.
I agree, it’s nobody’s business but hers if she wants to forgo a few weeks of meaningless suffering. If God has a problem with it she will have found out soon enough.
