Men's Rules, Female Freeper's Perspective(Vanity)

Posted on 12/31/2014 1:54:00 PM PST by Delta Dawn

A thread was posted two days ago, (4 Huge Mistakes I Made As A Wife (I'm The Ex-Wife Now)), that detailed a former wife's regrets for the demise of her marriage that she now acknowledges was her fault.

Contained in this thread, Post 31, was a list of Rules detailing the expectations for women who are in relationships with men.

I mentioned this list to a female freeper friend and suggested that she peruse the list for possible future reference. In typical freeper fashion, this strong willed person read the list and added her own comments regarding the aforementioned. I thought that she hit it out of the park and so, with her permission, I am sharing with the rest of freeper-dom her take on the Men's Rules.

I can’t see that beer is anything close to purses. I may have enough clothes and shoes but I do not have THOSE clothes and shoes. Shopping is not sport. It is entertainment.

I agree with the hair thing.

....” There will always be women looking for guy”.....

...Woman today are like animals in heat....and easy.
...Others need a breadwinner to help with their kids...also easy.
...Then others just want a sugar daddy....you need money and lots of it.

But you’re right...woman are seeking marriage today for whatever reasons...men are running from it and understandably so.

You got it right except for one thing....short hair, unless it’s cropped to the skull, is NOT easier to care for.

My wife started cutting her hair too short.

I warned her - then I had mine “buzzed” - like a cue ball.

That stopped that train.

But he found something better. Even though he went back to Spain in irons.

I hope Freeper Girl has a great spouse. I’m far more like her than like the shopping, sex-hating women described in the Freeper Man’s questions but I’ve been married twice and no one seemed to appreciate it. Feeling more sour on marriage than I ever had.

I’m one of them——and have always been that way.

You’re absolutely correct. And my buzz was complimented by other women.

So I got a 2-fer out of it. :-)

I really hate generalizations, but many of these are good. My husband and I would disagree on many of these, though. For example, my husband has far more pairs of shoes than I do. And he loves to shop (on-line). He buys all of the Christmas presents and has done so since we were married 29 years ago. The long hair thing? I don’t think my husband cares at all about my hair, although I don’t think I’ve ever had it much shorter than just above my shoulders. Right now it just touches my shoulders.

I’ve raised three boys who are all in their twenties. I’ve suffered with them as they’ve had to deal with young women who expect them to read their minds. I remember being that way when I was young and now I understand that most men just don’t pick up on what women think are obvious clues to how and what we’re feeling.

My biggest issue with the above rules is the one about crying. Crying is an involuntary reaction to something. I wish I could control crying because I hate to cry. I remember getting fired from a job once and thinking it miraculous that I made it out of the building before the tears started to flow. I could not cry on command if you paid me. I don’t think any woman knows how to cry if she isn’t really upset. We all marvel at actors who can do it. It’s not easy!

You can't be serious. Most women can cry on cue.

It is all good, that’s the way God made, we just need to believe it.
