Not targets. Apparently she baited the cat with tuna, caught it in a leg trap then shot it with a bow at point blank range as it sat with its leg caught and helplessly looking up at the cretin.

This is a seriously sick individual. Texas needs to pull her veterinary license and send her packing.

So no source whatsoever?

No local news station, or newspaper, or anything?

“You will probably be okay, though, as long as you don’t submit to anything that requires you to be tied up...”
...Oh let get tied up...he would deserve it
Laz, would you feel that way if he did what she did to your pet? Let’s say you have a daughter and it was her kitty?

You might find this interesting. From the comments:

Good news from KBTX.com (go there for updates): Tuesday (April 21) 11:53 a.m. The Austin County Sheriff's Office has sent its investigation of the Brenham veterinarian who bragged on Facebook about killing a cat to the District Attorney's Office. "At 7:59 this morning, the Austin County Sheriff has completed the investigation of the Animal Cruelty case first reported to us last Friday. The completed case file has been turned over to the Austin County District Attorney for filing of charges under Texas Penal Code 42.092. With the completion of the investigation, the Sheriff's Office will not release any further comments or updates to this case. Any comments, questions or information requests must be made directly to the District Attorney's Office."

I must have her.

Yep, the tuna trap is strong with this one.

I'm betting that this gal is still working with animals in the future. She'll have her own grooming and daycare service, called "Doggy Stylz".

I’d find out her position on spay and neuter first if I were you.

I must have her.

No you don't Laz, you're above that...........Furthermore, she's likely to stick a butcher knife in your chest while you're sleeping.

She’s in need of psychotherapy-I really hope the woman doesn’t decide to marry or reproduce-I’d be afraid for her husband or child. Baiting and trapping an animal in order to kill it is generally reserved for something really dangerous that can kill YOU-like a 300-400 lb feral boar hog with 6 inch tusks-not a cat.

I won’t kill anything I’m not going to eat, or hunt deer on a place where they are fed corn to tame them and lure them in-that is entrapment, not sport.

If it was okay to hunt pet animals, there would be a damn season on them-I hope that bitch gets arrested, fined for wanton cruelty and never gets hired again...

At the heart of being a veterinarian is compassion and respect for animal life.

My niece is a vet and the common practice is to first scan for a microchip, then determine if the cat is an abandoned or feral. The abandoned is almost always neutered and/or declawed.

As for the ferals, they're neutered and released into the wild if it's apparent they can't be domesticated by first being placed into a foster home........

This gal who would attempt to shoot a cat with a bow and arrow has no business being a veterinarian........

The bow and arrow is quiet,

And what does the arrow do to the animal if it doesn't hit the kill zone, which so frequently happens?

It leaves the animal dying a slow and agonizing death while it walks around with the arrow in its body.........

They also cut a notch in the ear to let others know the feral has been neutered.

There are two ferals living under the deck of the house across the street from me and late yesterday afternoon, there was a third cat that appeared out of nowhere. The latest one was white and orange and appeared to be healthy and clean.

So, was the cat dumped in my sub or does it belong to someone who allows it to roam free? That poses a quandry.......

I just contacted the president of our homeowners association and told him about the cats and he said he would contact the management company to have them send out someone to trap the cats and take them to the local humane society. The homeowner will also be told to fence up the bottom of her deck so as to prevent animals from taking up residence there.

As for the new white and orange cat, if it's caught, it's going to the humane society and if it belongs to a resident, they're likely not going to see it again..........

People who own cats need to understand that unless they live on farms or rural areas, they should not be allowed out of the house.......

People where I live (very rural), don't leave their cats wander.

I sometimes despise this time of the year. Everything should be greened in, in a couple of weeks. After that, we get the annual pet dumping. From my home you can't see the road in the valley below.

We can time it to when the animals (if they survive) come out of the woods starving in the fall. Adds to all the other fun of living in a rural area.

Many pets are not tagged yet and that is why the local vets are pushing for mandatory implants. It would put an end to most of pet dumping.

We finally got our local feral population under control by aggressive trapping and neutering. I have reserved a special anger for those who dump their unfixed pets.

I am pretty sure Laz feels the same way about what happened to this animal, and the way it happened as most of us do.

There is more than enough indignation and moral outrage to go around. I, speaking for myself, cannot do it 24x7, even though there seems to be enough on any given day to fill up an uniimited number of 24x7’s.

Don’t blame Laz, if you have to blame someone. You can blame me for egging him on. I love animals as much or more than anyone, and I just can’t maintain the outrage all the time. It is enough to drive people crazy, and it does that to some. Doesn’t mean the significance of this kind of act is diminished.

It just means after I exhaust my words, I am going to take a breath, step back, and take a mental break. Sometimes that mental break manifests itself in black or inappropriate humor, especially when looking at the stupidity, ridiculousness, or depressing bleakness of what seem to be commonplace situations now.
