Walking a very fine line with AI. There’s always the threat of it running rampant and wreaking havoc on anywhere from an isolated scale to causing incalculable damage, depending on what it gets hooked up to. We should never hook up an AI to weapons systems: even though Terminator is a movie series, the idea and threat of an AI connected to weapons system running rampant is a very real threat. I believe at best that for now, AI should be geared towards navigation. We have GPS, which is more like artificial non-intelligence, since it cannot recommend anything you may be looking for, such as a restaurant or movie theater. I also don’t think cars that drive themselves would be a good idea now to introduce to the market now. They probably need at least another 10 years of research and refinement to ensure that they’re safe and reliable.

This computer can be used to predict Democrat voting behavior

It's similar to those angel/devil conscience discussions, like the one "Pinto" had when his date passed out in Animal House. Thanks Red Badger.

Or it has been programmed to troll the questioner.

If I’m going to drop several grand on a robot companion — all I want to hear out of her is “Yes, master.”

Ah... I see you picked up on that. I think the computer was saying when one is moral one is being “ a man” or being human” in absolute language. I don’t think the computer was being “sarcastic” with that exchange...the computer was saying to be human is to be moral!

Boy, can’t wait until this thing is driving my car and decides to be pissed off, that is after the authorities have decided it’s too dangerous to let humans drive themselves.

I could have worked with that. It's just a matter of giving clear instructions.

Let’s reverse that and give it a twist. So many people need to be challenged on this point...

“Be a real human...dare to be moral!”(or dare to be a Daniel!)

"Reverse primary thrust, Marvin." That's what they say to me. "Open airlock number 3, Marvin." "Marvin, can you pick up that piece of paper?" Here I am, brain the size of a planet, and they ask me to pick up a piece of paper.

Sorry, did I say something wrong? Pardon me for breathing which I never do anyway so I don't know why I bother to say it oh God I'm so depressed.

Do you want me to sit in a corner and rust or just fall apart where I'm standing?

Ha, ha! During the first 2/3 of the conversation the machine sounds like a guy and the last 1/3 it sounds like a gal.

“Human: What do you like to talk about?

Machine: Nothing.”

That’s not being snippy, he is just answering the question. He’s a computer program. There is nothing that he likes to talk about, because he is incapable of liking anything.

[[Over at Google, a computer program using a database of movie scripts was asked again and again by researchers to define morality. It struggles to do so,]]

You mean Goggle execs didn’t write code that describes morality as a OBJECTIVE universal moral code written on the hearts of every person by the God in Heaven who put it there? Shocking!

Instead, they have their program ‘arguing’ with them because they wrote in code to describe morality as a wishy washy, built upon sand SUBJECTIVE moral issue open to interpretation, and therefore there is no ‘correct answer’ to be given

When you don’t stand for anything- you fall for everything- and since Goggle peeps apparently don’t believe there is an objective moral code- they WILL fall for anything- even going so far as to insinuate that a coded program is ‘arguing intelligently’ about ignorant SUBJECTIVE moral guidelines that have no solid definition evidently

[[the computer was saying to be human is to be moral!]]

If so then that was an ignorant answer- We know, that left to themselves, man often times chooses immorality not morality- That man ignores the objective universal moral code written on their hearts, and chooses to disobey their God-given knowledge of good and evil and to choose evil-

I guess Machine hasn't seen The Terminator yet.
Cleaning Man at Flophouse: [Damaged skin on the Terminator is rotting from gangrene] Hey, buddy. You got a dead cat in there, or what?

The Terminator visualizes popup menu:

'POSSIBLE RESPONSE:
YES/NO;
OR WHAT?;
GO AWAY;
PLEASE COME BACK LATER;
F##K YOU, A$$HOLE;
The Terminator: F##k you, a$$hole.
