This is a tacit admission that the moslems are a lesser people that us. With equals, everyone follows their own customs and nobody is offended.
With childish peoples, savages, and idiots, you exercise reasonable care so as not to unnecessarily inflame the lesser peoples.

Look - if we go to war just let our guys kill the bad guys and come home. None of this touchy-feely nation building.
Maybe politicians will be more judicious about who we go to war with if the policy is nuke 'em and leave.
