I regret not getting married when I was young. More specifically, I wish I had focused on the marriage factor, asking myself what I wanted more: a career or a family.
Unlike my mother’s generation where gender roles were uniquely defined and respected in America, the 1960s feminist movement and the offspring of liberalism has led to the death of masculinity in America today.
Gender roles have eroded to non-existence.

She is absolutely correct. These same little boys grow into adults who suppress their manhood to live in a politically correct prison with “no models of manhood,” adds Paglia.
Today’s modern man is afraid to tell a female colleague she looks pretty because he could be sued for sexual harassment.

Or because he is married and all the women around him are tattooed skanks, androgynous, or flat butt ugly.
Christina Hoff-Sommers was writing this more than 20 years ago. I can’t stand the metrosexual, faggy young men of today. Their boyish charm and Tom Sawyer qualities are beaten out of them at a young age. Not good for a strong country.
A lot of Freepers agree with this. They think women should be treated vulgarly just like leftists do. They are as against men acting like gentlemen and men just as much the left is. We see that on display even in the last few weeks.
Maybe you should get out of the "metro" places ...
This is why college women are constantly complaining in recent years on why they can’t seem to get a date on college campuses. The fear of a sexual harassment lawsuit by women versus men has pretty much seriously hurt dating in general, especially in the 18-28 age category.

I think what we have seen in the last several weeks is an innate over reaction that swings the pendulum in the opposite direction of today's political correctness. I, for one, am guilty of being crude to dumb down PC. It is a matter of fighting fire with fire in hope that people will see the that PC is wrong and being crude is wrong. The middle ground is being a gentleman who has the ability to woo women without punishment. Until that happens, I reserve the right to treat my bitches and hoes the way they deserve to be treated. (That is sarcasm, if there is any doubt.)

The funny thing is, Camille Paglia is NOT an anti-feminist, she is a feminist herself. She’s just not of the radical, man-hating variety, so other feminists do not like to count her as one of them.

Notice the discrepancy in your terms there? Men should act like gentlemen, but women only have to be “women”. No expectation that they should act ladylike, if they want to be treated as ladies.
Sorry, I don’t buy that feminist double-standard. They can’t have it both ways. If she wants to be treated like a lady, she should abandon her feminism and I will treat her as such. If she wants to cling to her feminism and un-ladylike ways, then I have no obligation to treat her like a lady.

No, that’s not true at all. Ladies have a standard too. I just see Freepers arguing more against the standard for males. To a greater degree, they actually support the female standard, although b not completely in the traditional way. It’s common for Freepers to criticize females who are going against that standard.
You couldn’t be MORE WRONG. Females were treated BETTER before feminism than AFTER feminism. Women were once revered and respected. Feminism KILLED chivalry.

You don't really understand conservatism. If a female is acting in an inappropriate way, that doesn't mean you should abandon your beliefs. You can act polite and then disassociate yourself. Then you win. If you allow her to drag you in the gutter, you lose.
You are actually siding with the feminists/leftists. That's exactly what they want you to do. They want you to abandon traditional roles and values and marriage for counter-cultural practices. So if you think you are rebelling or displeasing feminists by doing that, you are going to be disappointed. Because each time a man or a woman does that, the feminists/leftists got another win.
I'm a man, but I don't think we got here because of bad things done by men or by women. Leftists pushed certain things, and there are bad examples of both out there. But your solution is just surrender.
Being a gentleman is not being a sap. You control your own behavior, but you aren't obligated to but into any bad behavior. You just act polite and go your own way.
You obviously didn't take my meaning, because I agree with what you said 100%. That was my point.
Some conservatives are against chivalry because they are mistaking it for feminism, which it is not.
