What are some of your favorite quotes? Here are a few of mine:

To learn who rules over you, simply find out who you are not allowed to criticize. – Voltaire

The usefulness of a cup is its emptiness. - Bruce Lee

Any fool can commit a murder; a suicide requires a real professional. – Genrikh Yagoda Chief of the NKVD during the early 1930s

Socialists can provide you shelter, fill your belly with bacon and beans, treat you when you're ill, all the things guaranteed to a prisoner or a slave.

I always enjoy Mark Twain...

“Life is short, Break the Rules.
Forgive quickly, Kiss SLOWLY.
Love truly. Laugh uncontrollably
And never regret ANYTHING
That makes you smile.”

“The difference between the right word and the almost right word is the difference between lightning and a lightning bug.”

“Loyalty to country ALWAYS. Loyalty to government, when it deserves it.”

It’s an irony, in my opinion

People are right to insist on one being consistent - their deeds following their words, etc.

Those assailing consistency assail it to make average people who insist on such consistency vulnerable.

It’s like, “Who you gonna believe, me, or your lying eyes?”

"Quality is never an accident; it is always the result of high intention, sincere effort, intelligent direction and skillful execution.  It represents the wise choice of many alternatives"

Isn't this quote from William A Foster instead of Vince Lombardi?  I like the quote and was prepared to share with a friend of mine, therefore I checked on it first.

My results:

While dancing with a haughty lady, Churchill asked if she would sleep with him for a million dollars. She hesitated and said yes. He then asked if she would sleep with him for a 100 dollars. She said what kind of woman do you think I am? Churchill replied, We’ve already determined that, now we’re negotiating price.

I hope I am close on this one. If he didn’t say it he should have.

I’m going to have to read them again (that Heinlein quote comes to mind)...

Here is another:

"A human being should be able to change a diaper, plan an invasion, butcher a hog, conn a ship, design a building, write a sonnet, balance accounts, build a wall, set a bone, comfort the dying, take orders, give orders, cooperate, act alone, solve equations, analyze a new problem, pitch manure, program a computer, cook a tasty meal, fight efficiently, die gallantly. Specialization is for insects."
— Robert Heinlein, Time Enough for Love

One I have always embraced for obvious reasons.
