No, Thank You!

I’ll continue to fly the old fashioned way: inside the plane, full of Dramamine and over-priced Airport Lounge Martinis! :)

Gee, an 'observation dome'. We used to have those on the passenger trains....

I would rather be able to see the ground. Much more interesting.

Seems like a gimmick considering the cost to add it to an already high price for a new jet.

I’d have to be unconscious.

Maybe the idea came from a few Battle Of The Planets reruns.

Gonna need a full-featured joystick with some AMRAAM and Sidewinder missiles. Oh yeah, IFF, too. That would help.

It would be awesome on a clear night at cruising altitude.

Can you imagine how hot it would get without 40,000 ft of atmosphere to help filter out the sunlight. Can you say flashburns.

Not bad ... but I think I’d prefer the ball turret.

EIGHT MILLION to retro-fit two seats? You’ve got to be kidding me. I’ve got a sawzall and a cold-pack of beer...

"Oh, look, mom. Another cloud."

Man, you must be a ground pounder.
I'd pay double to ride in that seat.

No two clouds are the same, and they're all beautiful from the air.

Now, practical downsides:
1) That's a lot of additional drag (assuming more than one set of bubble seats) for aircraft that use computers to load only the fuel they need (plus reserves) to make a trip.
2) Since airliners almost always fly above the weather these seat would always be in the sunshine. Unbearable heat and sunburn would be issues (spoken as one who flies under a canopy - and uses a retractable shade).
