Scheherazade (Really Nice version)
You Tube ^ | 3/19/16 | Rimsky-Korsakov

This is one of my favorite Orchestral Music pieces of all time. I know every note of this.

I found this to be a particularly lovely version, and the camera work highlighting the members of the orchestra is nice too!

Just a little break from politics.

Not as good as Giusseppe Taddei on the classic Giulini performance. Lacks expressiveness.

Yes, I’m a tough customer.

Yes, the plot is wrapped around an orchestra player who gets set up by the CIA - comedy with Tom Hanks & Jim Belushi. Old, but funny...

Her technique was really good.

I have about four octaves, but I love my lower register best. I think I was what is called a ‘Dramatic Soprano” but as I have gotten older, I have become a True Contralto.

I was just listening to some very old recordings of Van Morrison and Mick Jagger, and their voices have darkened with age too.

So I sing a lot of Van and Stones in the original keys, even though I am a gal.

You’re blessed. I love opera, classical music, jazz and rock. From the time that I was a child, music has kept me mesmerised.

Maybe once a week, once I get set up in my new place. (Right now, I am camped out in a corner of my deceased Mom’s two-family, and living out of boxes waiting for the “closing” so I can get on with my life.)

Yeah, those singers knew how to sing Mozart expressively. Vocally, that performance was never really topped on all the subsequent recordings.

I love music. From the time that I was very young, I loved classical music and opera. From that point on, I found that other forms were also very appealing. It’s always been an important part of my life.
