Next week my wife and I are going to Canada for a few days and I would like to buy some Canadian whisky. My price range would be in the area of Johnnie Walker Black Label and below. Any ideas?
Wow. You really know your stuff. Excellent suggestions.
I haven’t had alcohol now for 20 years...
Being from East Tennessee, I used to drink a lot of the stuff we made ourselves...:o)
I traveled to Canada back then at least twice a year to bear hunt and found the Canadian Rye was much smoother than here in the states...I was told by Canadians it was because it was not blended with younger aged whisky as what they send to the states....
Crown Royal Special Reserve... Put it in the freezer, keep it as cold as possible. Don’t tell your friends (Freepers excluded)unless they will share liberally.
Fizzy sodapop.
Link didn’t work, but thanks for the Henny Youngman joke.
lol - yup
Just ask Ted Cruz, he and his dad should know.
Nothing smoother than Yukon Jack. And it has a kick.
GLEN ILYICH is lovely. Costs about $20 a bottle in the US but $380 at the LCBO and SAQ. Excellent and worth every penny. I also suggest CRAG AHMED, which was distilled to celebrate the end of Francophone and Anglophone culture and the beginning of a new era in illiterate immigrants with neither skills nor interest in work. Paid for by taxpayers, comes free with a sense of anti-American self-satisfaction.
I am not well versed in Candian whiskeys....but I will ask my canucklehead buddy in the a.m..
Wait....how can you put a price on good whiskey? You are on vacation...buy what you want.
At least I have got my price on Johnnie Walker Black Label to compare to. When I got my Canadian money it was about $.85 on the $. You think though the exchange rate does not make up the difference?
Compare Canadian Whiskey
Buy it duty free.
Crown Royal. Top of the line.
Canadian Club. Good stuff.
I think VO is the “best value” of all Canadian whiskey.
Crown Royal is the best, hands down.... but, it cost nearly twice a much. I treat myself on special occasions only.
As for a Canadian brand that THEY like, and is not readily available here, I recommend Wiser’s. It’s pretty darn good.. especially, the 18 year old stuff.
Crown Royal Cask Reserve is also VERY nice.
The Duty Free shop at the border is the CHEAPEST place to buy it. :-)
Good luck
FINALLY, a topic where I am an EXPERT!!! :-)
