Dubbed a "business necessity" rather than a leisure destination, Newark in New Jersey, US, has landed the top spot as the world's least friendly city.

Newark's "extreme traffic and poor signage" have been cited as reasons for the city's lack of congeniality, while its status as an airport city is said to make it crowded and overpriced.

One disappointed traveller recently said Newark was "one of the saddest looking cities" they had ever seen.

My father was born and raised in New Jersey. He was a veteran of WW2.

And isn’t Newark chock full of Muzzies? Not only unfriendly, but incredibly dangerous to keeping your head on your shoulders.

I guess they missed Camden.

I've driven through Newark many times...even caught a flight out of Newark once.I visited Camden once while doing a Summer Camp at Ft Dix in the early 70's.Not impressed by either town.

And here I thought it was the violent and destructive people living there that would cut your throat for a few bucks in your wallet.

Maybe a stroll through there on foot at 2:00 AM would change minds.

My only time at Newark was at the airport, the airline put my luggage on the wrong plane. I went to the lost luggage counter and I encountered 2 young ladies on the phone with their boyfriends or friends and another filing her nails who proceeded to ignore me for at least 10 minutes. Needless to say, Newark did not leave a great impression.

So much for all the “hard work” Corey Snooker has done to turn that city around.

I just discovered the show a little while ago.
Yeah, Tony’s King Kong of Joisey. There sure are a lotta fat guys in that show.
`Skinny guinea’ “Christopher Moltisanti” is on `Mad Dogs’, completely different character.
