Prayers for you.
Losing your house ? Let me tell you a brief story.
I semi-retired at age 35. Know how much money I had in the bank ?
Eight Hundred Bucks. That’s 8 big ones.
When I semi-retired (I work like 4 hours a week now) I did it the day that I lost my house.
I moved from Connecticut to very rural Pennsylvania with basically the clothes in my closet. I left the key in the door of my old house and rented a little place out here for less than half of my monthly mortgage payment (it was like $2000 a month, which I tried my best to make with 100 hour work weeks. That’s just one bill. My bills approached $4000 a month) I drove a 1984 Subaru wagon. I had just gotten married. I lost my house.
That day was like winning the lottery. Of course it didn’t always feel like it.. But those feelings of doubt and hesitation disappeared with each small accomplishment. Always small accomplishments.
It’s 5 years later, and I have never been so happy.
The way I sorta think of it is like one of those guys who goes to prison, and teaches himself law. When he gets out, he passes the bar and things turn around. He doesn’t get a ton of clients, and he’s not living high on the hog but he’s doing it.
Only in this comparison, the prison is one that about 98% of people are incarcerated in. The prison of our minds.
Walk away from that house. I’m living proof of the success story here. In many ways it will be an immediate weight off your shoulders, other weights off your shoulder will come later.
FRemail if you wanna talk more.
You aren’t losing your house at 9:00 A.M. if you call a competent lawyer at 8:00 A.M.
I will pray for you and your family.
Thanks. It is going to be alright. That is what I have learned. I was scared shitless to face them. I didn’t think I could go on. In fact, I was SURE that I couldn’t go on. I now know that I am far more blessed than I realized. Look, I feel stupid if this thread continues. My message. You are always wealthier than you know. You have blessings, resources, that you don’t realize. And, guess what, miracles happen, and you don’t always recognize them. Good night. I will sleep well tonight.
He probably won’t be able to afford one..
Do NOT feel stupid. I know I speak for all of us who have been up against it. And that’s all of us. It’s good to know good people are in your corner. Sleep well!
Well said. Wish I’d said it! But then, I’m not a Viking.
I am so glad you put yourself into God’s hands and asked for a miracle. Suicide is a sin that cannot be absolved.
Without any details my story was almost the same as yours. There was no way out but the drastic violent way. I was nearing the end of my rope. But I stopped off at church all alone after work. I begged. I prayed like I had not done in thirty years.
The last person on earth that I would expect help from, a week later asked what was going on and I told him how bad it was.
He offered to try to solved it. He said, “Because I can” And he did.
Sometimes you can’t NOT afford to call a lawyer. Before my health went haywire I sold a legal plan that’d take care of this sort of thing for a reasonable monthly payment. We’re 3X more likely to go to court than the hospital in this country.
I feel a lot of support here. Thank you everyone. I will not ask for anything but your prayers. I will endure. I know that now.
We are a family here & I pray that it all works out for you. And yes, let us know....even the smallest bit can help. You sound as if your family is very tight and that is a blessing. Looking forward to hearing from you FRiend.
Praying for you now. God bless.
Some law firms will file a Chapter 13 bankruptcy case for you for around $500.00 down. You start paying the monthly plan payments and court costs (and additional attorney fees) after the first 30 days.
If the plan of reorganization doesn’t work out, well, you tried.
It would be worth a phone call at 8 am.
Worth a try if you’re losing your house.
Does this render your family with physically nowhere else to go? This isn’t clear here.
Also in most places, you still have some time before they can evict, even after the sale.
I hope it is not as bad as to render you homeless, but sometimes losing a house is a blessing in disguise, it is to lose a headache that you are no longer in a position to keep up with.
Exactly. And I’ve seen courts set aside the sheriff sale when the bankruptcy case was filed on the same morning.
What we have here is a fellow Freeper - family - that just had life take a big bite out of his ass. I'm willing to man up and help, and so should the rest of you.
Mr. Hayek:
It is likely that you are experiencing a miracle. These are the times when the fabric between the physical world and the material world becomes very thin. Changes we can only contemplate take place, with results and consequences that benefit us in ways we can not imagine in advance. My suggestion is to pray for industry, wisdom and right action, and from there, leave the results up to whatever they are supposed to be. We are not in the results business. We are not in charge of outcomes. We are in charge of love and relationships, and responsible to try to be the men and women that we were meant to be. Abandon fear and selfishness, and ask for the Holy Spirit to guide you to a fit spiritual condition to accept the situation. You will see God doing things for you that you cannot do for yourself. Prayers for you Mr. Hayek. Your namesake has a quote on internet search: “The mind cannot foresee its own advance.” Prayers for blessings, for you and family. Regards, FE.
