Yuli Gurriel did something profoundly stupid during Game 3 of the World Series on Friday night. After hitting a home run off Los Angeles Dodgers starter Yu Darvish, who is from Japan, Gurriel returned to the dugout, held his index fingers to the outer corners of his eyes and pulled to narrow them, mimicking Darvish. Major League Baseball will meet with Gurriel before Game 4 on Saturday, and if the league intends to stay consistent with its message of inclusion and follow past precedent, it will suspend Gurriel for the action.

Moreover, we were all TAUGHT to heckle the opposing pitcher from the bench from the time we played our first t-ball game (althought t-ball wasn’t a thing yet when I was a lad). He probably never thought it would be conscrued as racist.

people don’t “take over” a sport. They re selected for their talent. Sports is one of the last bastions of capitalism. I am 70 fat, 5’9” white and balding. I have asked the NBA to have someone like me on each team for more diversity.

Mexico has a Caste System. There are the Caucasian (Spaniard Ancestry) and the “Brown” lower Classes of mixed Indian Ancestry.
My M-I-L grew up in Mexico City to a fairly well to do Family. They were no different than the Europeans of the day living in a Cosmopolitan City.
Their Servants, whom they loved dearly were all uneducated lower Caste. It’s just the way it was.
