Yep, that is probably what he would get if he showed p=up at Michelle Obama’s house. We give Swiss Miss.
We moved to Panama City from the country in 1951. We lived in Drummond Park which was a working class neighborhood. The complex was built in WW 2 for workers at the Wainwright shipyard. Although they were built quickly they were solid frame houses, most of them 3 bedroom duplexes next to another 3 bedroom.
A few people gave candy but a few gave nothing. Some gave saltine crackers. Us kids got together and told each other who was giving out the best stuff. I don’t think any of us had costumes. Someone was giving out popcorn balls which we thought was the best to get.
Even tho times were getting better, it was still fairly hard times.
I randomly gave some kid a whole coconut once.
He ran off. “DAAAAD! I got a cocKnut!
My best friend lives in Black Mountain, N.C.
He lives in the heart of trick or treators. They use a counter to see how many they have. Yesterday he told me the counter reached just under 2000.
I suggested that must have cost a fortune in candy but he has a large extended family who all chip in and help out.
“Aw crap...school lunch treats?”
He truly is a guru—he is my favorite YouTuber for gardening—and pretty much everything else too ;)
This video is a hoot—and just like in the video...I have spoken to teachers in urban school districts who have told me their students have no idea that french fries are made from potatoes or that the potatoes grow in the ground etc...
Anyone wanting to improve at gardening should watch this guy ;)
The 3 chefs knew what they were
“Where’s the arugula, maybe butternut squash too?”...Said no Trick or Treater, ever!
How far out in the sticks is this guy that kids trick-or-treats in the daylight?
That’s kind of fruity.
Dentist where I lived used to give sugarless gum - not a prank - he didn’t get a lot of visitors....
I once gave a neighbor compost for halloween- was that bad of me?
Some funny reactions.

(The kids are going to start scheduling a "Mischief Night Two", the night after Halloween.)
I did that for a number of years. The first year I had some broccoli and a head of cauliflower handy so I sat out on the porch and when the kids walked up I told them to choose. The reactions were a lot more ewwww and yucck than this guy had. Then I asked as an afterthought is they might rather have some of the candy I brought out from behind the chair. Joy replaced puzzlement and consternation. All the parents were cracking up right from the get-go. In later years I used canned food like butter beans and sauerkraut to similar effect. 20 years or so ago there used to be loads of kids going around but in recent years it got down to a trickle so I stopped handing stuff out.
I would be that one weirdo that would enjoy that LOL.
