Stupid hurts? who knew?
About one or two a year get it done to them...
...I used to live near YNP and visited a great deal...I once saw a woman kick a bison in the rear (that was in a wallow) so it would stand up in order for her to get a better picture...I kid you not...
So if she goes out when she’s released and eats a bison burger, will the left finger her as a vigilante?
People are idiots.
We had a bison walk right through camp one summer in a big campground with many people. It would have been difficult to maintain a seventy-five foot distance from the large beast. He just munched away on grass like we were not even there. No one approached him, though.
Stupid people.
We run bison on the ranch and WE don’t get too close to them. You heard them from horseback or from a 4x4 and NEVER from an ATV where you’re down low and exposed.
They’re dangerous animals and many a stray dog has wandered onto the ranch and made the fatal mistake of thinking that bison are just as much fun to chase as cattle. The bison run down the dogs and then stomp on them by putting all four feet together and then jumping up and down.
So if this stupid Californicator only got gored then she should consider herself lucky.
OMG, the gore-bull warming made the bison do it!
It ain’t Jellystone Park, Lady.
I always am confused about the difference between Buffalo and bison.
good.....stupid arrogant people....
Death in Yellowstone: Accidents and Foolhardiness in the First National Park, 2nd Edition
Big difference between 15 feet and 75 feet. Even a Californian should be able to eyeball it better than that poor woman.
Maybe a week ago I saw an ad on TV of a family in a car. A grizzly is standing only a few feet away and a kid in the back seat rolls down his window and snaps a photo with his cell phone.
I immediately thought the ad was extremely dangerous as it would encourage others to do the same.
Someone probably called them on it as I have not seen that one again.
I saw a Ranger take off on a dead run one time at Yellowstone. Out ahead was a very nice Japanese family about 20 feet away from an enormous bison trying to line up for a photograph. I know they were nice because I met them later in the Old Faithful Inn, quite unaware that anything untoward had happened. The bison didn’t turn a hair, and apparently the only one concerned was the Ranger...
Michelle Obama is vacationing there?
When it crossed the boardwalk, the bison became agitated and charged the crowd...”
Hard to believe those walk-ways can support a bison, but I suppose they do get up on them from time to time so they would have to. I guess it was only 15 feet - but can you imagine the sound of such a huge beast charging down the wooden walkway?
I got surrounded by part of the Wind Cave bison herd in South Dakota. I elected to stay in my vehicle with the windows rolled up.
Ole!
Ahh summertime.
The time of year the idiots get so up close and personal with nature it hurts. A lot.
