A Carnival Cruise passenger is missing after he jumped off the ship heading towards Florida, authorities said.

The 30-year-old missing man’s relatives told staffers that he had vanished Sunday, leading security personnel to check video cameras to track his movements.

A clip showed the 30-year-old man jumping off the side of the boat about 95 miles off the coast of Melbourne.

“The crew was notified by his traveling companion late (Sunday) afternoon about his missing status after he had not been seen all day,” the cruise line said. “Sadly, after an exhaustive on-board search and a review of security camera video it was determined that he jumped.”

The cruise operator said it alerted authorities about the incident and was advised to proceed to its final stop in Jacksonville

All it takes is one fool to ruin the cruise for everybody. If this trend of people jumping off continues, the cruise ships may have to make some tough decisions. Maybe shorten the time they spend looking for people who may have gone over the side. Shorten the time by a lot.
